Can we talk about courgettes? 🌿
Anybody out there who says they don't like courgettes? We have a feeling you simply haven't tried them the right way yet.
Courgettes are a huge part of Mediterranean and Eastern Mediterranean cooking, and of course, all over the Balkans. Fried, grilled, stuffed, baked... we could happily eat them in every possible form.
Ours get the BBQ treatment, because obviously. 🔥 BBQ courgette, crumbled goat’s cheese, dukkha and chilli oil. The goat’s cheese melts over the hot courgette, the dukkha brings that irresistible crunch, and the chilli oil keeps asking you to take just one more bite.
And then another.
Summer is courgette season. They come straight from our garden. 💚

Sour Cherry Margarita 🍒🍸
Sour cherries are a big deal in the Balkans. Every summer, they are gathered by the bucketful and turned into all sorts of delicious things—preserved in jars, frozen for later, baked into cakes, cooked into compotes or simply enjoyed as they are.
They’re tangy, sweet and beautifully soft, but still hold their shape. And if you've ever had a Balkan sour cherry lemonade, you'll know exactly how refreshing they can be.
So we thought... why stop at lemonade?
We took that familiar sour cherry flavour and turned it into a Margarita. Because who says a Margarita can't be a lemonade? 🍒
Perfect for another heatwave on the horizon. Cold, tangy, refreshing and just a little bit dangerous.

Weekend dining at The Lacy Nook just hits differently. ☀️🌿
Saturdays are for brunch—and that's what makes it so special. One day a week, one menu, and every dish made to be lingered over.
The rest of the weekend is all about our sharing dinner menu, with Sunday lunch bringing the very same feast, plus the occasional seasonal special.
