Their dishes are full of personality and distinctive tastes predominantly from the Balkan region, enhanced with Middle Eastern spices & condiments. They offer private catering for family and friends, lovely food at your event, or street food. As holders of an alcohol license, they also provide assistance with drinks.

When the Balkan heat arrives, the tables fill with meze, dips, fresh bread, grilled vegetables, salty cheese, olives and long lazy conversations. From Turkey to Greece, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and across the whole Balkan coast and countryside — this is how we eat in summer. Light, colourful, made for sharing and made for hot weather.

And with this beautiful weather, it feels like the perfect time for a slice of spanakopita — spinach, feta, herbs, wrapped in delicate filo and baked until perfectly crisp. Simple pleasures, Balkan style. ☀️🥬✨ OR Sesame ring fried egg, spiced beans, feta, bacon & herbs. Almost full English but Balkan style.

There’s something about beef ćevapi that no fancy food trend could ever replace. Those little grilled sausages arrive hot, smoky, tucked into soft lepinja bread, with onions on the side and kajmak melting into every bite — and suddenly you’re not just eating, you’re remembering. Summer evenings, loud family tables, roadside grills somewhere between North Macedonia and Slovenia, music playing, friends talking over each other, somebody ordering “can we have 10 more.”

It’s the taste of the Balkans. Of Ex-Yugoslavia. Rustic, homely, indulgent, unapologetically delicious.

And when you find real beef ćevapi in London? That first bite hits differently. It brings memories back instantly — the good times, the warmth, the feeling of home far away from home. Everybody says, “Oh, they’re just little sausages.” But people from the Balkans know better. Ćevapi are tradition. Identity. Comfort. A whole culture on a plate.

Once you try proper beef ćevapi, there’s no way back.

Beef ćevapi forever on the menu — dinner, brunch, late nights, always.

A new season is just around the corner though, and we’ve got lots of good things coming soon 🌿

Meanwhile, the charred greens are still going strong — and honestly, they might just be our favourite thing on the menu right now. Full of flavour, texture, and all the good stuff. Please do give them a try 💚

The role:
– Running daily front-of-house operations
– Leading, training & supporting the FOH team
– Rotas & inventory
– Working closely with the GM to help grow the business

You’ll need:
✔️ Minimum 3 years experience as a Floor Manager
✔️ Confidence leading a team in a busy restaurant
✔️ Great energy and love for hospitality

Tavche gravche — or something close to the Greek Epirus gigantes — is one of those humble Balkan dishes that tastes like home. Slow-baked beans, rich tomato, sweet paprika and herbs, cooked the old way in a clay pot until everything turns soft, smoky and deeply comforting. Rustic, simple, beautiful. A true winter favourite across the Balkans.

At The Lacy Nook, we’ve created our own version, served with hearty Kranjska pork sausage — finally making its way onto the menu.

We’re on the lookout for an all-rounder Chef de Partie to join our small but mighty kitchen crew — a close-knit team (mainly fabulous females 💁‍♀️) who love great food, good laughs, and don’t take ourselves too seriously.
We’re a family-run, independent spot, proudly loved by our locals — the kind of place where regulars know your name and the kitchen is full of teamwork, chatter, and the odd sing-along. No corporate nonsense, no egos, no scary hierarchy — just good food, good people, and a shared passion for what we do.
🍽️ The food?
We cook modern and traditional dishes inspired by the Balkan Peninsula / Eastern Mediterranean, with a big focus on open-fire and barbecue cooking — bold flavours, simple techniques, and ingredients treated with respect.
🔥 We’d love someone who’s happy to get stuck into a bit of everything:
– Running (or learning!) the barbecue
– Prep, service & jumping on the pass from time to time
– Getting involved in menu development and creative ideas
This role could be perfect for a younger chef with 3+ years kitchen experience, who’s keen to learn new skills, cook over fire, and understand how a small, independent business really works.
📅 Open Thursday to Sunday (hello, real work-life balance 🙌)
💷 £30k per year + service charge
