🩷🩵 Private Hire 🩵🩷

We get asked this a LOT. Basically we need to make a decision; and it’s an economic one.
In a nutshell - if I close the cafe for a private event; will I make as much money as if it was open and serving breakfast and brunch?

If I’m being honest; no, we probably won’t. Parties like these tend to stay for 2-3 hours; which is perfectly valid as everyone is catching up, playing games and enjoying each others company!

But in those 2-3 hours; we could have turned around those tables twice, maybe even 3 times.

We wouldn’t have had to turn anyone away.

We only have 26 seats; which (thanks heavens; and the locals 🤣) are pretty much always full, all day every day. We can never guess when quieter days will be; but every lunchtime we are packed.

Having said this; we do have trends - we are quieter first thing in the morning, and in the afternoons after the lunch rush. So; we are open to hosting an event then!

Anyway, that was a big ramble, well done if you made it this far! In a nutshell; we are happy to host private events; but at the moment the timings needs to be on our terms; as we are only a tiny place and often very busy 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Shiona’s at The Pantiles in Bexley is a welcoming little café with a friendly, community-focused feel. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in for a proper coffee and a bite to eat, and the atmosphere always seems warm and upbeat.

The menu is clearly something they’re proud of, with plenty of variety across coffee shop classics and sandwich-style options. Recent posts highlight how much attention goes into the treats too, including standout baked items like brownie-stuffed cookies (often referred to as brookies), which look absolutely incredible.

What really comes through is the energy behind the counter. Service is lively and personable, with staff clearly enjoying what they do—whether that’s chatting with regulars or keeping things moving during busy moments. Overall, Shiona’s feels like a relaxed, enjoyable spot on The Pantiles where good coffee, tasty food, and genuine hospitality go hand in hand.
