With an extremely heavy heart I announce the passing of my dear husband, soul mate and the love of my life, Jonathan Ghaffar who returned to his creator early on Monday morning. To Allah We Belong and to Allah We Return.

He was very unwell suffering from pneumonia and kidney damage. I am devastated beyond belief, heartbroken and feeling very numb. I'm happy that I spent all last week in LA at his bedside, talking to him, reciting the Holy Quran and prayers. I'm glad he's now out of his suffering. It was painful seeing him fighting for oxygen. His loss has left a huge gaping hole in my heart and a pain that's indescribable.

Ironically it was 31 years ago today (22/4/1994) that he embraced Islam after searching for the truth. Allah took him from us the day he became a Muslim. This is not a coincidence. He was chosen. We only got married last February and his demise has left me feeling so lost without him.

I'm glad Allah put us together when He did, we were both looking for the type of love that we were both denied for many years. We both believe Allah put us together for a reason just so Jonathan could experience true love, albeit for a short time. I am truly broken but glad I made him happy in the last 3 years of his life. He died knowing how deeply I love him. Please pray for his soul and that Allah raises him to the highest level in Heaven.
