🎳 Striking up friendships outside Dcafe!
Our wonderful Dcafe volunteers recently enjoyed a well-deserved bowling trip together.
When they’re volunteering, everyone is busy helping to make Dcafe a welcoming place. With different shifts and working hours, it isn’t always easy for the whole team to find time to socialise.
The bowling trip was a lovely opportunity to relax, catch up and learn more about what everyone has been up to - while enjoying a little friendly competition too!
Most importantly, it was our chance to say a heartfelt thank you for their dedication, hard work and everything they do for Dcafe. We’re incredibly grateful to have such a fantastic team of volunteers!

Community is about more than being in the same room. It is about being able to communicate, participate and belong ❤️.
JDA provides Deaf and Deafblind British Sign Language users with practical and emotional support, accessible activities, outings, computer classes and welcoming weekly groups - including the volunteer-led Dcafe.
It is a place to meet friends, learn something new and enjoy being part of a vibrant community.

Big thank you to all Dcafe volunteers for their hard work 😊
❤️ To those volunteers who get up early to drive our older members to their beloved Wednesday Club, who travel to people’s homes to keep their hearing aids working well, who prepare and serve delicious meals for us at Dcafe, who push wheelchairs, who give companionship, who fundraise, who run marathons and climb mountains for us, who for 75 years have kept JDA strong … a big thank you to you from all of us at JDA! 🙏

What a joyful afternoon at JDA’s DCafe! 🎉
We celebrated Gideon’s birthday today and were delighted to be joined by Alan Haynes from All Aboard Charity Shops, one of our favourite charity shop supporters who help fund charities like JDA.
A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteer Sharon for making a brilliant birthday cake, and happy birthday to Gideon from all of us.
