Folc’s Pinot Noir Rosé, produced and bottled in England, is the perfect accompaniment for the English summer… best enjoyed in your nearest Fuller’s garden. As part of our English Wine Month celebrations, you can buy a small glass of any English Wine for £7.50 throughout June.
Plus, working with brands such as .folc – who have developed more lightweight packaging while working hard to promote soil health and biodiversity as part of their winemaking philosophy – means we can offer you delicious wine that has less impact on the planet.

Wardour Street, where The Ship lives, is named after the 17th-century Wardour family. They were important landowners in the area when the district was first developed, before then it was an area known as 'Coleman Hedge Lane' ☀

Part of the reason Fuller, Smith & Turner continued to thrive throughout history was the sustained good quality of their beers. As the modern age of communications dawned on the company, the brewery assumed a more thoughtful approach to their marketing methods. For example, they took out a patent on the name 'Griffin', originally adopted by Douglas Thompson. Even though years had passed with little comment on the use, eventually a Mr T.P. Griffin objected to the brewery's unrestricted use. To this day, we don't know the reason for the objection, it could have been a Victorian version of compensation culture! This lead to correspondence with the Board of Trade and the appointment of solicitors. By 1892 the matter it was all finally agreed and the trademark of the Griffin Brewery officially came into existence 🍻
