For all those asking… (no one asked)
Ever wondered why we named the business Le Swine?
I was having a cuppa with a punter outside the caff recently and he asked me “why Le Swine?”. He thought we were trying to sound a bit fancy. Like proper fancy and that.
So here’s the real reason…the moment the idea of the business came about I jumped on the phone to my mate Lucy (who’s a real creative fu**er) and told her I needed a name for the biz. We went for a spot of lunch, I talked her through the concept and that I was leaving my job to sell bacon sarnies. Lu started reeling off words like OINK, PIGGY, PORKY, PORCINE …SWINE.
SWINE - Love that! I went home that night to buy the domain and it had already been taken. I told Lu we need to add another word. “Gimme a couple of hours” she said.
One of the words Lu came back with was “La”. I thought let’s change that to “Le”…Le Swine 🐷
Stuck a lil’ va va voom on an old English word. It instantly reminded me of when Del Boy try’s to sound sophisticated - “Mange tout Rodders”. Perfect.
Anyway, for those still reading, thanks to everyone who has passed by this half term ❤️ it’s appreciated

The biggest and most sincere thanks to the incredible local community who get behind independents. We honestly love seeing you guys week in, week out. And to the weekend punters who don’t mind a queue — we truly appreciate everyone who passes by.
Next, the team. The team is EVERYTHING. It’s also the most rewarding part of the job. I think our team is fu***ng great. So to everyone who has grafted down the caff, past & present - thanks for keeping us moving.
