I visited my tree while visiting my in-laws in Pauanui today. Not sure at what stage this became ‘my tree’ but there was definitely a moment on Boxing Day of last year when I was isolating from the rest of the fam as I woke up feeling horribly sick. The whole family were playing Christmas games and I went for a solo walk along the beach and took that second photo after telling my tree my wishes for the new year. I went to bed with a fever and woke up feeling worse so I drove myself home to Auckland (2 excruciating hours while my eyes watered and I had to pull over to sneeze a storm). My mum made amazing healing soup and my parents delivered a whole hamper of healthy goodies while I slowly recovered. I couldn’t stop thinking about the tree though. And the moment I felt slightly better, I got my paint brushes out and began to paint. It healed it. So now it’s my tree that I visit when I’m in Pauanui and when I look on my wall at home, I’m reminded of its healing powers. PS a Pohutakawa tree is known as NZ Christmas tree because of its bright red festive flowers that bloom around that time of year.

When I imagined myself as a mother before I was one, I always knew I’d devote time to educating my kids about good homemade food with real organic and superfood ingredients, and when they’re lucky enough to be invited to parties, I’d teach them to be grateful and give them free rein to whatever was on offer without limits. I thought this would be their opportunity to try out some junk food out there, but little did I know is that all the parents these days seem so clued up on what companies like do to our health, they don’t even offer these things at parties 😂😂 So at age 6 and 3, neither of my kids have tried this soft drink and the only way they knew to refer to it if advertisements showed up is ‘a spicy drink, not for kids’. So when Elliot and I took them to the movies recently, I wanted to give them the complete Cinema experience and we bought a large combo of butter popcorn (strangely, this was vegan with just a flavour of butter) and Cola Cola on ice. And what do you know- they fricken LOVED it!😬The spicy drink was a big hit and fake flavour popcorn was extremely addictive😲🤯. Neither of them could get enough of this combo and ate and drink until they couldn’t eat and drink any more, exclaiming: ‘wow yum, more more, spicy drink is soooo yummy, popcorn is soooo goooood’. This was three months ago now and you know what?… they have never mentioned it since. Not even once this entire time. Could it be because we didn’t make it out to be a big deal or a prohibited food? Or because it’s never been in their radar since the first time they tried? Or because they’re nourished on all the right foods to not have other cravings? 🤓Im curious- has anyone had a similar experience and did it backfire or turn out to be a genius move? PS have I been living under a rock or is a $95 (£50) movie visit also seem a little extreme??

Day 21. is officially complete! 🎊 Lots of you have been asking what you can do next. I’m being called to do a . Who’s keen to join me? There are so many things you can do to support your liver to heal, I’m still learning about it and listening to various audiobooks, but here is what the next 7 days looks like for me anyway: 1. Liver Detox tea steeped the night before. 2. Celery juice 30 mins later. 3. Liver tonic full of natural extracts. 4. Liver Protect Plus supplement full of healing herbs. (I literally went to 3 different health stores and found the best product they sold for liver support/detox)

Day 12 of 21 days for me and a few of you too. That means we’re almost 2/3 of the way there. Go us! I’m so busy with kids’ school and work these days so I have to be fully on top of everything- buy, prep, scrub & trim the celery a couple of days in advance- that’s been the trickiest part of the challenge. The juicing bit is easy. The cleaning of the juicer actually feels like the breeziest part of the morning once I get everyone fed and lunch boxes packed. But the most satisfying part is how the activated charcoal in lemon water followed by pure celery juice makes me feel 💪🤩💃🦚! And I’m not the only one feeling the benefits… Here are a bunch of your own comments up to now:
💚”Celery juice is surprisingly easy to drink and what’s more surprising is it’s filling!”
💚”Only 10 days in and I lost 5lbs”
💚”Feeling alive”
💚”Describing how I feel in one word would be FRESH”
💚”I don’t wanna stop after 21 days!”
💚”Activated charcoal is tasteless in lemon water, I thought I’d struggle but feeling the opposite”
💚”My tum is flatter and haven’t felt bloated all week”
💚”A complete convert here”
💚”It’s great to have something to focus on”
💚”Usually by day 3 of any cleanse, I experience detox symptoms, but on day 11 all I feel is energised!”
💚”Have not missed my morning coffee and croissant in the slightest”
💚”Thank you for introducing me to the challenge. Spending most of my time on the toilet🤣”

Lots of you have started the 21 day ‘activated charcoal in lemon water + pure celery juice instead of breakfast’ challenge with me today. A few of you are starting it later on in the week and a few are starting next month. Whenever you’re ready, start like you mean to go on…
1. Prepare the celery the night before. Wash and scrub it well and cut away the thick leaves.
2. Have your activated charcoal drink first thing in the morning. I stir 1/2-1 tsp of charcoal in a glass of warm water (warm is better for digestion) and squeeze 1/4-1/2 a lemon inside. Any health store should stock activated charcoal since it’s a common remedy for food poisoning and upset tummies.
3. Use any juicer at all. Lots of second hand Brevilles are sold on TradeMe/ EBay/ etc. It’s true that a cold press juicer protects the delicate nutrients that could be reduced by the heat of the motor, EXCEPT when it comes to celery!! Celery is so hardy, even if you blend and strain it, you can rest assured you’ll get all the goodness anyway. Make/drink celery juice at least 30 mins after the charcoal drink. Sip slowly and swish around your mouth too as it’s very good for your teeth.
4. Cheers! You can eat normally after midday. Remember to record all your measurements on day 1 and day 22 (waist, hips, thighs, upper arms) and weigh yourself too! Make notes about how you’re feeling and if you’re experiencing any fatigue, aches, cravings, breakouts, etc, especially at the start (and note when they switch to energy and bliss). All the yuckies are detox symptoms and they’re ALL to be celebrated because TOXINS ARE LEAVING YOUR BODY, BABY!
💚For more on the benefits of this cleanse, see my previous post. If you’re joining the challenge, I’d love to hear how you get on… comment, DM, text me and use the hashtag if you post about it 😘 Have fun!!!

💚How it works:
1. 1 tsp activated charcoal stirred into glass of warm lemon water first thing in the morning.
2. 500ml freshly made celery, and ONLY celery, juice at least 30 minutes later( This requires about 1/2 chunky bunch, washed, leaves trimmed off).
3. 21 days of this being your breakfast, eat normally after midday.
💚Why it works:
1. Charcoal binds to toxins and heavy metals, extracting them from your body safely and without detox symptoms.
2. Celery juice has a unique composition of sodium cluster salts which break down fats in sluggish liver and pockets of putrefying bacteria in small intestines amongst many miracle doings. Electrolytes and bioavailable vitamin C for heaps of energy and a robust immune system are just some of the benefits.
💚Why you should join the challenge:
1. I’ve tried it all and THIS is the combo which helps me personally cleanse and lose weight better than anything else out there, without the pain or horrible detox symptoms!
2. It’s very doable and requires the most basic juicer only. You can also use a blender and then strain if that’s all you own.
3. Just look at the slides for more benefits. Also If you like listening to audiobooks, I highly recommend you download by and listen to it over the 21 days to motivate you. This book always blows my mind!
💚I’m starting on Monday!
💚Who’s keen to join me?
