I visited my tree while visiting my in-laws in Pauanui today. Not sure at what stage this became ‘my tree’ but there was definitely a moment on Boxing Day of last year when I was isolating from the rest of the fam as I woke up feeling horribly sick. The whole family were playing Christmas games and I went for a solo walk along the beach and took that second photo after telling my tree my wishes for the new year. I went to bed with a fever and woke up feeling worse so I drove myself home to Auckland (2 excruciating hours while my eyes watered and I had to pull over to sneeze a storm). My mum made amazing healing soup and my parents delivered a whole hamper of healthy goodies while I slowly recovered. I couldn’t stop thinking about the tree though. And the moment I felt slightly better, I got my paint brushes out and began to paint. It healed it. So now it’s my tree that I visit when I’m in Pauanui and when I look on my wall at home, I’m reminded of its healing powers. PS a Pohutakawa tree is known as NZ Christmas tree because of its bright red festive flowers that bloom around that time of year.

When I imagined myself as a mother before I was one, I always knew I’d devote time to educating my kids about good homemade food with real organic and superfood ingredients, and when they’re lucky enough to be invited to parties, I’d teach them to be grateful and give them free rein to whatever was on offer without limits. I thought this would be their opportunity to try out some junk food out there, but little did I know is that all the parents these days seem so clued up on what companies like do to our health, they don’t even offer these things at parties 😂😂 So at age 6 and 3, neither of my kids have tried this soft drink and the only way they knew to refer to it if advertisements showed up is ‘a spicy drink, not for kids’. So when Elliot and I took them to the movies recently, I wanted to give them the complete Cinema experience and we bought a large combo of butter popcorn (strangely, this was vegan with just a flavour of butter) and Cola Cola on ice. And what do you know- they fricken LOVED it!😬The spicy drink was a big hit and fake flavour popcorn was extremely addictive😲🤯. Neither of them could get enough of this combo and ate and drink until they couldn’t eat and drink any more, exclaiming: ‘wow yum, more more, spicy drink is soooo yummy, popcorn is soooo goooood’. This was three months ago now and you know what?… they have never mentioned it since. Not even once this entire time. Could it be because we didn’t make it out to be a big deal or a prohibited food? Or because it’s never been in their radar since the first time they tried? Or because they’re nourished on all the right foods to not have other cravings? 🤓Im curious- has anyone had a similar experience and did it backfire or turn out to be a genius move? PS have I been living under a rock or is a $95 (£50) movie visit also seem a little extreme??

Day 21. is officially complete! 🎊 Lots of you have been asking what you can do next. I’m being called to do a . Who’s keen to join me? There are so many things you can do to support your liver to heal, I’m still learning about it and listening to various audiobooks, but here is what the next 7 days looks like for me anyway: 1. Liver Detox tea steeped the night before. 2. Celery juice 30 mins later. 3. Liver tonic full of natural extracts. 4. Liver Protect Plus supplement full of healing herbs. (I literally went to 3 different health stores and found the best product they sold for liver support/detox)
