The Bridge - Health, Fitness & Wellbeing The Bridge - Health, Fitness & Wellbeing is a charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of women residing or working in London. Located in Southwark, the charity focuses on promoting health and wellbeing by empowering women to make positive life choices. The Bridge offers a women-only gym, which accommodates individuals of all shapes and sizes, fostering an inclusive environment for fitness and wellness. Additionally, the organization features a licensed café and meeting rooms that are open to everyone. With roots dating back to the 1920s, The Bridge operates under founding principles aimed at addressing the intellectual, physical, spiritual, moral, and social needs of its members. Through its various initiatives and supportive facilities, The Bridge strives to reduce health inequalities among women and encourages them to take control of their lives through knowledge, self-belief, exercise, and diet.

As part of Menstrual Health Awareness Month, we came together to celebrate the end of our Stitching Stories journey. 💜🧶

Over six evening sessions, women gathered to learn knitting and crochet, share stories and build connections in a safe and inclusive space. Together, we revealed the final knitted piece that was stitched throughout the programme and reflects the work of over 20 women. This piece reflects the connections we have with our bodies and cycles, the strength in our collective experiences and the community that grew along the way.

The evening also included a Q&A session on menstrual health with womb and wellbeing coach Louise ( ), creating space for honest conversations, shared experiences and learning.

A huge thank you to our facilitators, Marie and Cashka, and to every woman who joined us, picked up a needle and yarn, shared a story, and helped make this project so meaningful. We will continue monthly social knitting and crochet sessions on the last Monday of each month, starting 22 June.

Starting this week, Me&Baby Dance now has TWO classes! 💃🏽👶✨

Due to growing demand, we’re excited to offer two weekly sessions for mums with babies aged 2–12 months.

Me&Baby Dance is a creative, fun and therapeutic movement session led by Dance Movement Psychotherapist Julia Korning, designed to support connection, confidence and joy in early motherhood.

Through playful movement and dance with baby, we explore:
🤍 bonding & attunement
🤍 reconnecting with yourself after becoming a parent
🤍 creativity, play & movement
🤍 dancing to music that isn’t nursery rhymes 😉

The sessions are relaxed and accessible come exactly as you are. Feeding, cuddling, resting and baby chaos are all welcome here.

Last Wednesday we shared a really special evening together slowing down, gathering in community and getting creative with collage ✂️✨

A gentle space to reflect play and explore future manifestations in whatever way felt right for each of us. No pressure no rules just magazines paper intuition and a lot of open hearted making

Led by Elena the session held space for process over perfection where creativity unfolded through conversation laughter quiet focus and shared curiosity. It was less about outcomes and more about being together in the moment and seeing what emerged

Thank you to everyone who came and brought their presence imagination and openness. There was something really grounding and uplifting about creating side by side 💛

We’re excited to be partnering with Futures Theatre for a brand new Walk & Write series at The Bridge. A chance to move, reflect, and write, all in the company of other women.

Each week, we’ll walk together through the local area, taking in the river and green spaces, before returning to The Bridge for relaxed, guided creative writing inspired by what we’ve seen and felt along the way.

No writing experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to try something new. This is a space to connect, create, and take time for yourself.

Some conversations are long overdue… and some really stay with you

At The Bridge Health, Fitness & Wellbeing, we’re proud to be creating a space where women can come together to talk openly about perimenopause and menopause, and the range of support available, including non hormonal and holistic approaches.

It’s about more than just information, it’s about connection, shared experiences, and knowing you’re not alone.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and trusted us with your stories. It was also so encouraging to see curiosity and awareness across generations. These conversations truly matter at every age.

We’re so glad to be part of a community that’s helping to reduce stigma and empower women to make informed, personal choices about their health.

Nearly 100 years on and we’re still having this conversation.

Yesterday, at the launch of the Renewed Women’s Health Strategy, reflected on The Bridge’s long history supporting women’s health. ‌

It’s something we’re proud of. But also something that raises a bigger question: why is this still needed?

We were proud to host the launch of the Renewed Women’s Health Strategy for England here at The Bridge yesterday.

It was a privilege to welcome , Baroness Merron, Professor Dame Lesley Regan (Women’s Health Ambassador), and so many organisations working to improve women’s health across the country.

This strategy is clear on one thing: the system hasn’t been working for women. Too many have been ignored, dismissed, or left without the care they need.

At The Bridge, this is what we see every day and why our work matters.

We know that:

- women’s voices need to be heard and believed
- health is shaped by community, connection and lived experience
- spaces that are welcoming, inclusive and co-created can change outcomes

We’re encouraged to see a stronger focus on listening to women, improving access, and shifting care closer to communities, all things we know make a real difference. But strategies are only as powerful as the change they create. We’re excited to play our part in making that change real.

Last week we slowed down, tuned in, and let creativity flow 🎨✨

Cécile’s Meditative Watercolour Workshop was all about releasing perfection, embracing the moment, and finding calm through colour and movement. No pressure, no rules just space to explore, express, and breathe.

To reach your destination at Southwark Bridge Road in London, you have a couple of options for public transport and driving.

**Public Transport:**

1. **Tube:** The nearest underground station is London Bridge (Jubilee and Northern lines). From there, exit the station and head south towards Borough High Street. Walk along Borough High Street until you reach Southwark Bridge Road.
