💗 WHAT A DAY! 💗

We are absolutely thrilled to share that our North Star Summer Fair raised an incredible £1,392.09 for Princess Alice Hospice! 🎉

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along, donated, played our games, visited the stalls, listened to the live music and helped make the day so special. 🥰

We also want to say a massive thank you to all of our amazing market holders and volunteers who gave up their time and helped make the fair happen. We couldn’t have done it without you! 💗

Most importantly, thank you to our wonderful community for coming together and helping us raise such an amazing amount for such an important local charity.

Meet our Regulars

I have moved through many different cities throughout my life. I was born in Nottingham and I travelled with my parents from Chesterfield, Yorkshire, Birmingham and then back to Nottingham for Art College. I moved around in store management at Marks and Spencer. Finally moving to head office and therefore London. I then went on to senior positions including managing director of other Retail chains. Then later on in my career I went onto consultancy. Having always been interested in birdwatching and conservation and to put something back at the end of my working life I worked for the wildlife trust. 9 years ago I retired at 61.

My wife, Pat bought me to Chessington in 1992. I tried all the pubs in Chessington but eventually settled on being a regular at the North Star about 14 ish years ago.

I love the North Star it is easily the best pub in Chessington. I do however never see the inside as I’m always in the garden hut. I’m a later evening drinker. I do really like the fact the North Star always has real ales on tap. (Particularly a pint of bass! - takes me back to my times in Nottingham)

I am known for my large collection of caps so people are surprised when they see I have a bald head! Possibly I am the only person in the pub who’s been hit by lightning.

We’re so excited to welcome you all tomorrow for an afternoon packed with live music, market stalls, games, prizes and plenty of family fun — all in aid of Princess Alice Hospice 💜

To reach Hook Road in Chessington by public transport, take the train to Chessington South Station and exit onto Station Approach. Cross over the road and head south on Leatherhead Road towards Cox Lane. Continue straight until you reach Hook Road on your left. Follow Hook Road for approximately 10 minutes until you reach your destination.

If you are driving, take the A243 to Leatherhead Road and turn onto Hook Road. Follow Hook Road for approximately 5 minutes until you reach your destination. Limited street parking is available nearby, or there is a nearby pay-and-display car park on Bridge Road.
