The Betsey goes electro…but it’s for charity, you know!
The team at Logic Planning are hosting a special fundraising event for Music of Life - a national charity that empowers disabled children and young people through high-quality music-making. DJs SWTR, Greg D., Lorenzo and Pietro Di will Be spinning the finest house, funk and techno in our upstairs function room. 100% of the proceeds are going to Music Of Life.

North-East London psych-folk ensemble Trimdon Grange Explosion return to the Betsey on 9th October 2026. Comprising Alison Cotton (viola/vocals), Ben Phillipson (guitar/vocals), Mark Nicholas (bass) and Karl Sabino (drums), the quartet formed in the aftermath of the split of acclaimed folk-rock outfit The Eighteenth Day of May , of whom all four were members. Their sound is a fusion of Velvet Underground-esque psychedelia and their own English traditional music roots. Support comes from Shadows Of Stephen. 🌳

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Chats Palace, we’re bringing The Robert Elms Show Live to east London’s beloved arts centre.
Robert Elms will be presenting a live version of his much-loved radio show, featuring live music and conversation with:
- Danny George Wilson (Grand Drive / Danny & The Champs)
- Russell Clarke (The Rock ’n’ Roll Routemaster)
- Tom Hunter (celebrated local photographer and Chats Palace veteran of over 40 years)
- and more special guests
It’s going to be a very special evening celebrating music, stories, people and the rich cultural history of east London.

Creators of The Lantern Society return …!
We’re very excited to welcome our great friends Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou back to The Betsey …
Husband and wife duo TREVOR MOSS & HANNAH-LOU have been with us from the very beginning. Off the back of their original band – INDIGO MOSS – they launched the LANTERN SOCIETY at The Betsey way back in 2007, a night that is still going strong here today, although they have long since passed on the baton. Going on to launch their first album as a duo here in 2010 they have produced a brilliant and unique body of work that has been a delight to follow. We’re honoured to be welcoming them back to celebrate their re-signing to the UK’s premier alt-country label – LOOSE MUSIC - and to experience the latest musical chapter from this amazing folk-rock 2 piece.

John Otway at the Betsey? Oh yes!
“Rock and Roll’s greatest failure” returns to the Betsey - for one night (well, afternoon) only.
Arriving on the back of punk in 1977 and helped by an ill-balanced gymnastic performance on The Old Grey Whistle Test, his first single”Cor Baby That’s Really Free” managed to reach number 27 in the UK Charts. Going on to develop an increasingly unhinged career, building a cult following along the way, 2002 saw him finally become a 2 HIT WONDER when “Bunsen Burner” - a song written to help his daughter with her chemistry homework - scored a top 10 hit and saw Otway running amok on Top of The Pop. Expect ill-judged on-stage acrobatics, theramins and the stupidity of a great genius.

To reach the location on Farringdon Road, there are various options available. If you plan to travel by public transport, you can take a bus or train to Farringdon Station and then head towards the east on Cowcross Street. Continue straight on this street until you reach the crossroads where Farringdon Road meets it. Alternatively, you can take either the Circle or the Hammersmith & City lines of the London Underground and get down at Farringdon Station.
If driving, you can use either A201 or A4 roads and reach the intersection where A201 meets it. Once there, turn towards east to arrive at your destination. There is limited parking available near the pub with parking fees being charged on weekdays between 8 am and 6:30 pm while parking is free during weekends.
