We’re thrilled to announce the next guest in our chef collaboration series: the incredible Jon Watts.
Join us for a truly special evening on Thursday 9th October at The Clink Restaurant HMP Brixton, where Jon will work alongside our students and staff to deliver an unforgettable menu inspired by his best-selling cookbooks, and share the remarkable story behind his journey. 💙
After serving six and a half years in a young offenders’ institute, Jon was determined to break the cycle of reoffending. He embraced every opportunity for growth, learning to cook and becoming the first person in custody to earn all three Duke of Edinburgh awards. After his release, he worked at one of Jamie Oliver’s restaurants before launching his own projects. His debut book with Bloomsbury, Speedy Weeknight Meals, became a #1 Sunday Times bestseller. Jon now shares his inspiring story nationwide through TV, social media, and talks that impact both businesses and at-risk young people.

If you're planning to go to Her Majesty’s Prison Brixton (HMP Brixton) in London, you have both public transport and driving/parking options.
Public Transport:
- Take the Underground Victoria line and get off at Brixton Station, then walk for about 12 minutes.
- Take bus numbers 3, 45, 59, 109 or 159 to Brixton station and walk for about 12 minutes.
Driving/Parking:
- If you are coming from South London, take the A23 road northbound towards Brixton. If you are coming from North London take the A23 southbound towards Brixton.
- The prison is located on Jebb Avenue; there are several parking spaces available in front of the prison.

The Clink Restaurant HMP Brixton is not just any restaurant, it is a unique dining experience that offers much more than just delicious food. The restaurant provides prisoners with the opportunity to learn and gain City & Guilds NVQs in food preparation and service, giving them true-to-life work experience in the hospitality industry.
With 30 prisoners working a 40 hour week either in the kitchen or restaurant, The Clink Restaurant is providing invaluable training and support to help reduce reoffending rates. Graduates of the programme receive dedicated support from a Clink mentor to secure full-time employment upon their release, easing their reintegration back into society and helping them avoid reoffending.
Each diner who visits The Clink Restaurant is not only treated to an exceptional dining experience but also helps to simulate a true-to-life working environment that is essential for the continued development of the prisoners in training. With seating for up to 120 people and five additional private areas for up to 24 people, The Clink Restaurant is perfect for meetings, events, and private dining.
Overall, The Clink Restaurant HMP Brixton is an outstanding initiative that provides prisoners with valuable skills and opportunities while also offering diners a unique and memorable dining experience.
