What an honour and a pleasure to make another cake for celebrating the end of her O2 tour.
Also one of the first cakes that my kids were excited about the recipient in 17 years of business. Better late than never!

Planes two ways. One for a soon to be qualified pilot, the other for a big Dusty Crophopper fan. Both valid plane cake options in our humble cake opinion

When times are hard but you still want a stunning cake, edible print is a fab option. We kind of like them too as it gives our tired little digits a break!
Cake still looks chic but doesn’t take ages to make and we pass the lower cost on to you.
Winner winner, cake for dinner!

What a week!
1000 cookies didn’t sound like too many when I wrote the numbers on the order form but I can confirm that was a slog 😅.
Doing every part of the process x 1000 is loooooooong. But they look fab so all good. Don’t want to see a cookie for a while.
Done and delivered complete with blisters on fingers ✔️

Got some Fortnite fans out there? The game has 1.5-3 million players online at any time. That's massive! And this cake was definitely ordered by a big fan

Some people call them flying rats but this is to do the humble pigeon a major disservice!
A bit of pigeon research on a Tuesday morning shows them to be highly intelligent, urban-adapted birds, capable of recognising themselves in mirrors, counting and navigating their way home from hundreds of miles away. They can fly 90 mph, see in ultra violet and are one of the few birds who produce ‘crop milk’ to feed their young who are known as squabs. Who knew?!
I present a cake in honour of the humble pigeon and her little squabs!

Ahhh Skye! We love a Paw Patrol pup and it’s lovely to feature her since she’s often overshadowed by the boys. It’s time for her in the spotlight!

This was a cake ordered by an old friend who I hadn’t been in contact with for a very long time so it was really lovely to hear from him and make this for his son. That’s one of the best bits about my business. It connects me to people which is important in this crazy world. Here’s to getting rid of the present day pirates
Caveat: it feels weird to post pictures of cakes when the world is on fire and is being run by lunatics and innocent people are continuing to be killed 🇵🇸

Well it’s that time of year when the ovens temporarily cool and we take a bit of a break to recharge and reflect. 2025 has been a really tough year for us business wise. I know that I’m not alone in feeling that. Small businesses, their owners and staff have been feeling the effects of the economy and customers feeling the pinch for a while now and I take my hat off to them all. It’s really stressful but building a business from nothing and growing it over the years is a true passion of mine. None of it would be possible without my amazing team of talented and super creative artists. You are incredible. And we’d have no business without our wonderful customers, some of whom we have known for 17 years worth of celebrations. I love seeing them come back year after year and let us know what their kids are into each time and what they’ve been up to. It’s one of my favourite parts of the business. Thank you so much for your support.
Thank you to everyone who buys our cakes but also likes, comments and shares our posts and supports my cake baby. I started this business on my kitchen table in a one bedroom flat, moved to a shop in Southfields for 10 years and now we are in an industrial unit near Wimbledon. It’s been a crazy ride that has stood alongside me having 3 human babies, a 9 month trip around the world and a personal move to the countryside from London. A companion that has reintroduced me to wonderful people from my past and people who are my present and future.
So long live Cakes by Robin! It’s tough but we will get through this tricky economic time and carry on making epic creations like this one for many years to come.
Merry Christmas to all our loyal and faithful customers. I truly appreciate your support and kindness and wish you health, happiness and prosperity in 2026 and beyond and obviously a Free Palestine

It was my youngest’s 8th (how did that happen?!) birthday party yesterday and we took a trip to London Town for lunch and with four of her friends. Not for the faint of heart herding 5 x 7/8 year olds along The Strand at rush hour but this cake greeted us when we got home. Thankfully it didn’t need to accompany us into town!
