My Jamii Cafe

My Jamii Cafe My Jamii Cafe was a coffee shop, sandwich shop, and breakfast & brunch restaurant located in Honor Oak, South East London. It was a non-profit social enterprise scheme that supported, engaged and developed young people for the future. The café was run by Sam, Zoe and their amazing team who were passionate about giving young people with little access to work experience or opportunities the chance to grow their confidence and access the world of work. They gave each young person access to high quality training, improving their literacy and social skills, and enabling them to reach their full potential. Unfortunately, My Jamii Cafe has been permanently closed.

Love the new menu, come and check it out, plenty for vegans and vegetarians. We make all our food to order and you sit in and enjoy a fresh juice or smoothie.

All profits from sales in the cafe are invested in training young people not in education or training to provide them with the experience of working in the hospitality industry learning customer service and barista skills.

A year ago like most businesses we closed our doors and needed to rethink what we do.

Today we are still a cafe that provides training to young people who need more support. But we are also a eco general store supplying our local community with refils to reduce plastic use/waste and earth friendly products for the home.

Thank you to our very loyal customers who continue to support what we are doing 🥰

We have so much to be thankful for, in the year that we have all had we have been able to keep our youth work going either online or through working in strict bubbles with restrictions on activities. Today our newest trainee made his first latte that was good enough to sell am so proud.
