We loved May.
Hagen Paddington opened its doors. Jesper and his cinnamon rolls at Hagen Middenweg, Amsterdam. POMA joined us at Hagen Paddington, London — and we had a great conversation with Rasmus that we didn’t want to end.
And through all of it — great coffee, as always.
More to come in June.

As part of Hagen’s guest baker series, we welcomed from Sommer Canteen, Copenhagen to our Middenweg Espresso bar in Amsterdam.
Cinnamon buns beautifully prepared, a taste of Copenhagen on a sunny Saturday in May.
Tak Jesper, the series continues with our next baker soon.

Hagen Termini Paddington is our new concept bar — one built around the idea that even the most transient spaces deserve real design and great coffee.
The design inspiration draws from two mid-century references.
The first: Victoria Arduino’s 1922 mural machine. Mechanics hidden behind the wall, only the group heads visible, flush in marble. A machine that became architecture.
The second:Room 606. Arne Jacobsen’s frozen-in-time suite at the SAS Royal Hotel, Copenhagen, 1960 — the room that proved a travel space could be designed with total intention.
Hagen Termini Paddington lives somewhere between the two. A place that feels considered in a city that rarely stops.

Our espresso bars have been designed with different nuances of Danish culture mixed with local traditions.
We have made the centrepiece of this espresso bar - a carpeted “hygge pole” (as we like to call it).
This is the Hagen experience - welcome to our newest site in Richmond.

At Hagen, we strive to minimise our environmental impact - from responsibly sourced coffee to eco-friendly practices and projects in all of our espresso bars. One of our sustainable initiatives is using the Bellwether Roaster at our North Audley Street Espresso Bar - the world’s lowest carbon coffee roaster, that won Best New Product at World of Coffee Copenhagen 2024. The dedication to innovation and belief in a better future for the coffee industry has lead Bellwether to create a way of roasting that is sustainable for the environment, equitable for farmers and accessible to all communities. They are leading the movement to electrify and decarbonise the coffee industry. An impressive 1.78kg of carbon is saved per 1 kg of coffee roasted.

At Hagen, we bring the best elements together, drawing inspiration from past and present. The design of our bar on Jubilee Plaza in Canary Wharf was inspired by Room 606 - the only surviving interior of the SAS Royal Hotel from 1960 by Arne Jacobsen, Danish architect and furniture designer. Room 606 is his principal work and a key reference in the history of architecture and design. When visiting our espresso bar next time, take a moment to appreciate the blue velvet bar, brown marble, wooden panelling and oval lights, all paying homage to the timeless style of the 1960s and Jacobsen’s visionary design.

Today, we’d like to introduce you to some of the people behind our craft - our team that make your daily cup of coffee at Hagen.
Meet Steve, our coffee master here at Hagen! Originally from Oxford, Steve’s passion for coffee is only matched by his love for Copenhagen. With a Danish girlfriend and a deep appreciation for the cosy, hygge-inspired lifestyle, he’s embraced everything about Denmark - including perfecting the art of crafting the ultimate cup of coffee. Stop by and say hej to Steve next time you visit!
Meet Nini who has been with Hagen since 2023. Her favourite coffee she ever tried was a natural coffee from Ethiopia - rich and smooth, with hints of chocolate and caramel, and a subtle fruity brightness. You will find her in our Bond street site whipping up a storm☕️

In true Danish exploratory tradition, we find the best single origin coffees from around the world to bring to our bars, one of our most important partners is the Himalayan Speciality Coffee Project, which imports sustainable coffee from Eastern Nepal.
Through this project, Danish charity, the Human Practise Foundation, supports a community of 1,000 coffee farmers in the Taplejung district through direct trade and uncut charity. Directly impacting the livelihoods of 3500 people. Taplejung is perfectly suited for growing specialty coffee, with its rich soil and high-altitude conditions ideal for cultivating unique flavour profiles. A first for us, it is now available to take home from our bars as instant coffee and capsules.

What people say
Hagen Espresso Bar, located on Swallow Street in London, is a coffee shop that truly knows how to deliver exceptional brews. Their commitment to quality and innovation is evident in their recent offerings, as showcased on their social media platforms.
One of their standout creations is the Hagen Home Brew 3.0. This remarkable blend features La Indonesia, one of the world's finest single-origin coffee beans. With its delightful symphony of red berry notes and a hint of strawberry and sugar cane finish, this brew is reminiscent of a perfectly balanced V60 filter coffee. The Hagen Home Brew is best enjoyed black, allowing you to fully appreciate its delicate flavor notes. Whether you're at home or on the go, this exceptional brew will surely impress.
In addition to their impressive coffee creations, Hagen Espresso Bar also knows how to celebrate special occasions. On Father's Day, they paid homage to Gianni Agnelli, the father of Italian style and sports cars. Just like Agnelli savored his espresso with elegance, Hagen encourages customers to treat their dads to a cup of their exquisite coffee. It's a thoughtful gesture that perfectly captures the essence of balancing elegance, adventure, and fatherhood.
Furthermore, Hagen Espresso Bar recently introduced Himalayan Cold Brew to all their bars. As the weather turned colder, they embraced the opportunity to create something unique and refreshing. Their cold extraction filter coffee is brewed for an impressive 20-22 hours in order to achieve the perfect balance of flavors. This original recipe has been perfected over four years in their bars, ensuring that every sip delivers a truly satisfying experience.
With its dedication to crafting exceptional brews and its innovative approach to coffee creations, Hagen Espresso Bar on Swallow Street is undoubtedly a must-visit destination for any coffee lover in London. Whether you're looking for a delicious home brew or an invigorating cold brew experience, Hagen Espresso Bar has you covered.
