Hi everyone. We have a very exciting update to share with you (finally!)🍾🤩
We received confirmation that our insurance claim has been accepted, which is just the best news, but it is news that we are still struggling to process. This is what we have been waiting to hear for nearly 5 months and admittedly our hopes were low after how long it had all been taking.
We wanted to take time to thank you all again for all your support in your donations and sharing our page. We genuinely would not be here still without your kindness and generosity. Thankfully the landlord’s insurance (responsible for the building) did come through some weeks ago so they started the building work. However, due to numerous delays it was becoming less known if we would be able to reopen. Now with our claim agreed and awaiting payment, we can now have reassurance that we will be returning to Blackheath doing what we love! 🥩🍷
We have no words to express how thankful we are to our loyal customers, friends and family who have supported us from that awful day in May to now. We will be closing the Go Fund Me page as we don’t want to continue accepting donations.
Please continue to support us and follow along with our journey on our social media! We plan to have a grand reopening to mark the occasion for our return! Watch this space and thank you again ❤️

We wanted to do a post to say a HUGE thank you to Ross Elderfield for organising a charity football match yesterday that raised money in support for our restaurant.
This was kept a complete surprise and we are truly blown away by everyone’s generosity, support and kindness ❤️. We have no words to explain how grateful we are and what this means to us. In a time where we are really struggling and often feel very helpless, this has shown us how incredibly selfless people are and we have so much thanks to give.
Ross and the Whippets team do a lot of work for so many great causes and we just wanted to say thank you so much. Thank you to everyone who has donated to our fundraising and continue to share to spread the word. We unfortunately have a long way to go still but we do remain hopeful for our future at Buenos Aires Café ❤️

Hi all, Kate here. I just wanted to post to say how thankful we are for all of your continued support. My husband, Reinaldo, and I went to a friend’s birthday yesterday and to our complete surprise, they had organised a fundraising for us. We have no words to say how touched we are by everyone’s kindness. It is such a difficult time where we still don’t know what tomorrow brings but your support is truly keeping us going. A huge thank you to Ross Elderfield for organising the fundraiser ❤️

We are launching a fundraiser. After a devastating fire, our beloved Buenos Aires Café in Blackheath is facing an uncertain road to recovery. We’ve poured our hearts into this place since 2005, and seeing it damaged has been heartbreaking.

We’re heartbroken to share that due to unforeseen events and circumstances we are unfortunately unable to open today and for the foreseeable future.
Right now our focus is on dealing with the situation and assess the damage and next steps.
