Best thing I ever did to improve my mental health.
Since quitting in November 2023 (full transparency I drank on about 5 separate days during Jan & Feb in 2024) my life has done nothing but improve.
It was the start of a journey (yes I hate that word too, but how else to describe it?) that has led to the happiest and most content period of my life.
The quitting drinking in itself didn’t magically fix anything, but it gave me the mental space to explore what was really going on. And that’s where the really cool stuff is. 🌟
Stop considering that critical voice in your head as ‘just good common sense’.
It never will be. ❤️

Happy 9th Wedding Anniversary to us!
I don’t know how I got so lucky, but this man is the best of all men.
He’s stupidly handsome, ridiculously kind, fiercely intelligent and the funniest person I’ve ever met.
Here’s to many more years of whatever this is, because life is good and there’s no one I’d rather spend it with.

My hen do was 9 years ago!
Getting married for the first time at 49 was the best thing I ever did (apart from the beautiful kids, obvs).

Did a 5k run round the Harbour in Bristol this morning. So pleased that I can now run this distance (thanks to the couch to 5k app). Feeling so much stronger too. 😊🏃♀️

How nice is the light in the Rose & Crown?
Sat with my wonderful husband, drinking , (nearly 850 days alcohol-free) feeling incredibly grateful for all the wonderful things in our lives.
Contentment has nothing to do with possessions or external validation, it’s about being in the present.
Letting my brain really feel this is very much a work in progress. 😊
