ATTENTION RESIDENTS OF TELE HILL AND SURROUNDING AREA: ⚠️

Pillar of the local communtiy, The Barrister for Bass Mr Jean-Claude Lionbeat ( ) has befallen a very sad and recent tragedy. His legendary bike (a decarbonised, battery-powered sound system) was stolen outside the Hill Station on the 8th of May whilst was going on inside. So far it hasn’t turned up and due to the placement of our CCTV inside the caf - we can’t quite make out it being taken (we believe it was between 19:30-22:00). Without his bike Jean-Claude cannot continue his community work and some of his summer projects have been seriously impacted or put on hold. 👎

Two ways you can help:

1. Do you have any recollection of seeing this bike about recently? Do you have ring doorbell footage of the evening in question? Again, the times we’re focusing in on are 19:30-22:00! If you think you have any info that might help us track it down please get in touch!

2. In the meantime we’re fundraising to help him replace it! Visit the link at the bio for more info on the bike and to visit the GoFund me page - give what you can!

Long live Bassis! 👊 🎵

Staff Spotlight: ✨

Meet our dear Kelechi 💛

She’s been part of the team for nearly 10 years! She was just a baby when she joined us after doing work experience with Lewisham Collage. 🥰

When she’s not helping to keep things running smoothly, she absolutely loves baking and cooking 🍳 🍰 She says her go-to treat in the café is Aga’s Ricotta & Almond Cake but I’ve also seen her scoffing brownies. 👀 🍫

Kelechi makes sure she soaks up the sunshine back home in Nigeria every year, where she indulges in all the incredible local dishes 🇳🇬

Despite working in a café, Kelechi doesn’t drink tea or coffee and often tells me I’m “disgusting” for drinking black Americano :/ (she’s right).

The cafe wouldn’t be the same without her and her unique charm so let’s show her some Hill station love. ❤️

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: 👩‍🍳

This is Aga! Our kitchen manager and maestro baker!

Originally from Poland, she’s been with us since 2010. She actually started as a volunteer to help learn English and never escaped (our gain). Over fifteen years later and she’s running the kitchen, baking ALL of our wonderful fresh cakes/pastries and, on top of that, being a lovely, caring person 😻.

Her family have beehives back in Poland that produce some seriously delicious honey & wonderful beeswax candles which you can pick up in shop. 🐝 🍯

If you’re popping in soon, she says you should absolutely try the vegan blueberry & lemon cake or banana/chocolate/walnut loaf. 🍰

Show some love for Aga! 💕
