Alemany i Corrió, Principia Mathematica, DO Penedès, Spain, 2021

Tasting Note
Crisp white fruit and apricot nose with a light nutty element and a Meursault-esque butteriness. The aromas open up and become richer but still perfectly balanced. Dry, soft but fresh acidity. A lovely depth of mineral laced, grassy white fruit with hints of apricot and nuts.

Food Matching
Most definitely with seafood but it’s a far more versatile wine than that and would work with grilled pork sausage or even flame roasted lamb chops finished with a sprinkling with fresh rosemary.

Escocesa is a neighbourhood tapas spot in Stoke Newington, where all the seafood is sourced from Scotland.

This means juicy Orkney scallops, octopus with white bean purée and capers, and grilled Shetland mussels.

Vibe-wise it's a popular date spot and, if that’s what you’re after, you’ll want a spot at the bar. It’s moodily lit, classy but casual, and there’s a view of the action—perfect to enjoy a few plates and a couple of glasses.

Spanish restaurants are known for their vibrant and flavorful dishes that showcase the rich culinary traditions of Spain. Escocesa, located in Stoke Newington Church Street, London, is a prime example of a Spanish restaurant that truly captures the essence of Spanish cuisine.

One of the standout features of escocesa is its tapas bar and restaurant, which offers an extensive selection of small plates that are perfect for sharing with friends and family. From classic dishes like patatas bravas and croquetas to more innovative creations like grilled octopus with romesco sauce, every dish at escocesa is bursting with flavor and creativity.

In addition to its tapas menu, escocesa also offers a range of modern European dishes that incorporate traditional Spanish ingredients and techniques. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty paella or a delicate seafood dish, you're sure to find something on the menu that will satisfy your cravings.

To complement their delicious food, escocesa also offers an impressive wine list featuring a variety of Spanish and European wines.
