Drooling over this 12” double chocolate cake for a 18th birthday last night. Grandma’s chocolate sponge, filled and covered with rich chocolate buttercream, covered with a liberal serving of delicious fresh fruit and touches of 24 carat edible gold leaf for some extra luxury.

Pastel butterflies make the cutest theme 🦋 🌈 🫶 There is something about these secondary colour rainbows that reminds me of my childhood… and a good dose of edible glitter makes everything that little bit more magical ✨

Cake but make it Met Gala 💅 for Honor’s 21st birthday. The random note edible print image took impossibly long to design from individually clipped images when I made it in 2025 for a party catered by . It’s quite depressing to think how easily it could be done using AI now 😔 Anyway, some of you will hate this I’m sure and some will love it: just the way a good catwalk outfit should be 😉 Let me know if you’d be brave enough to wear this one?

Posting this on the day that the last blossoms are falling off my own little apple tree… I love the back of this cake just as much as the front. Here is your reminder that cakes for men can be beautiful, too 🩵 🌸

I had to lie to the recipient of this cake 🙊 She contacted me a couple of months before her birthday to book in but then went quiet. I didn’t worry because she is a regular customer. In the meantime, she passed the cake duty to her family (also regulars!) They then arranged everything with me, but told the birthday girl they had bought a supermarket cake instead. She even emailed me to apologise… of course I was very nice about it 😉 I am certain that this statement cake made an excellent surprise when it was revealed!
Royal purples, fucsia and gold for a 50th birthday. Seriously glamorous but also fun.

In a world of AI making the impossible visible, some REAL cakes are especially difficult to capture in a photo. And one thing that AI can’t do is listen to what you are asking for and work out that actually you want something else. originally requested a heart shaped Lambeth cake with ribbons, but after a few rounds of gentle questioning and prompting it became clear that what she really wanted was something softer, floatier, dreamier, with a mix of palette knife work and 3D flowers, and not too much piping… So I designed this for her. 💛 Swipe through to see how it went down 🥰

This cake turned out a lot better than I thought it would from the AI brief! My original attempt at the watercolour buttercream effect did NOT go well so I had to scrape it all off and start again doing more of an ombre effect rather than random smudges: you live and learn! The mum bought the image from Etsy then Polka Dot Cupcake did a fabulous job turning it into a perfect multi-layer masterpiece. Then edible glitter and Super Streusel gold dragees and sprinkles make everything better of course…

I don’t do fondant modelling. But this week I said yes. And then I had to order a weapons mould I’ll probably never use again and spent FOUR HOURS researching, designing and making a box of Lord of the Rings cupcakes and I just have no idea how I spent that long 😵💫 🤯 😭 The Elven leaf brooches do look good though… but I dunno, was it worth it?

A few farm cakes 🐑 🐮 🐴 🐷 🐤 similar but slight tweaks each time… Which is your favourite?
The first one was for a mother’s group for their joint second birthday party: I did their first joint birthday cake too! Looking forward to the next one although you have to get creative to find a way to include twelve names on a cake 🫠

Happy Friday!!! Can you feel spring in the air??? I can. I am so excited, but also dreading the moment we return to having only ten minutes at a time to work on a cake before condensation starts hitting 🙈 Anyway, here is a cake from last year that I looooved making: a summer meadow filled with both buttercream and wafer paper flowers.

Who says wedding cakes have to be white? Not me! This one had the most fun retro colour palette and was just a joy to make 🥰 The bride sent me her idea set of colours and I had great fun mixing to achieve the right shades for her. I did get through a LOT of those marachino cherries though as obviously I had to eat all the ones that came without a stem…

Dungeons and Dragons 🐉 cake 🫳🎤 Not at ALL my standard colour palette so when I was colouring all the buttercream I had to keep reminding myself to trust my vision as they looked quite unappealing all lined up next to each other… BUT I was so chuffed with how it all came together from a vague brief of D&D, oranges / browns / red / grey…

I’m leading with the close-ups for this wedding cake from the start of Autumn because the flowers were everything 🤩 ♥️ It is a very weird thing turning up to a wedding venue with a completely blank cake and just having to trust that the florist will have brought a good selection for me to work with… 🙏 I didn’t need to worry on this occasion as let me choose what I wanted beforehand and then even let me do a few cheeky swaps when I needed to fill some awkward spots. My favourites here are the moody, mini cosmos, I just love them.
Chandana and Dan had chosen some very social flavours for their cake so the cake menu also needs its own photo 😝

Number cake with a cactus twist 🌵🌸💚 for a 30th birthday. Beautiful, hand-piped buttercream succulents and cacti, finished off with some home-made macarons (chocolate, salted caramel and pistachio) and XL chocolate balls. A little different to my usual fancy or floral designs; what do you think?

I am refusing to acknowledge this terrible weather. Instead, I am looking back on all the gorgeously happy and colourful cakes I made in 2025. Here is a simply delicious wedding cake from June, delivered to Chelsea Old Church for a wedding catered by my good friends at . The bottom tier was vanilla with strawberry buttercream and the top two tiers were lemon with raspberry buttercream: fruity, fresh flavours all round!
I am getting lots of lovely wedding emails hitting my inbox and it has made me realise how few you have seen! I need to fix that… So come back soon please and let me know your favourites when you see them 😊

Happy New Year! It’s been a loooooong time since I posted and I really have needed that break. It’s been a combination of being too busy and just needing a social media detox. I’ll try to see you around a bit more here again though so keep your eyes peeled and add me to your favourites if you don’t want to miss me 🤞 😘 Anyway, here are some lush cakes from the week or so after Christmas for the chocoholics out there

Last 24h to get your Christmas orders in 🕰️ 🚨 I’m working right up until 24th but am fully booked for all other custom orders now until January 1st, so it’s Christmas or cupcakes only between now and then.

This is why I get that slightly panicked look in my eye when you send your husband to collect and he doesn’t know what he is expecting… 😵💫 👩🍳 💪 Ten cakes and six cupcake orders this weekend, just the last couple to decorate now then I’m done for the weekend… Except for the washing up. And then I can start answering all the emails 🫠

Another wonderful day yesterday, setting up a pair of cake, cupcake and macaron installations for the iconic at and then at Holy Trinity school in Wimbledon. Steven did a book signing for his new book followed by a Q and A session sharing his inspirational story. To celebrate, The Ballet Boutique commissioned me to make these special dessert towers, featuring colours, motifs and even images from stunning illustrations.
I am hugely grateful to for permission to use all the images and to for painstakingly making the toppers for the top cake and cupcakes.
The towers are a composite of tiers from two .options cupcake stands plus a tier from their macaron stand. I just love using their stands this way.
