We’re settling it properly. At our Wh**ky v W**e dinner, every course comes with a pour of The Macallan and a matched w**e, served side by side. You taste both, you pick your winner, and nobody’s going home without an opinion.
Each course meets its match, but which pairs better: the wh**ky or the w**e?
Fighting the wh**ky corner is George Michie from The Macallan. Holding it down for w**e is our own Ian Wright, the man behind our w**e list. Expect stories, a bit of friendly rivalry and some very good drinking.

Dead Famous. Halloween at The Weir, Brentford. Saturday 31st October.
Come as your favourite dead legend. Rock stars, Hollywood icons, history's greatest, the ones who left us far too soon. If they're gone but never forgotten, they're on the guest list.
Tickets are £15 and get you entrance and a welcome drink. Expect a fully dressed venue, Halloween cocktails at the bar, music all night and a prize for the best dressed ghost of a superstar.

Two new additions to The Weir Bar menu that are built for cosy nights in the pub:
🥩 8 Hour Slow Cooked Beef Shin, with carrots, potatoes, creamed pearl barley and buttered kale, finished in a rich red w**e jus.
🐖 Slow Cooked Pork Belly with Fennel & Crispy Crackling, served with buttered mash, braised red cabbage and a c***r jus.
Both slow-cooked to fall-apart perfection, because good things take time (and honestly, so does getting the crackling this crispy).
