Two weeks into our soft opening at Suzaku Izakaya, Caterham 🍶.
Thank you to all our friends who took the time to share feedback with us. What's good, we'll keep improving; what's not, we'll refine step by step. We'll move steadily toward the standard we want to reach.
There will be difficulties and problems along the way, but we won't rush or look for quick fixes; we'll solve and improve things one by one, patiently and steadily.
We truly believe that all our staff will put in the effort to give every guest an unforgettable experience. Thank you for being with us on this journey. 🙏

PLEASE NOTE
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Suzaku Izakaya in Caterham will unfortunately be closed today.
We will reopen as planned tomorrow from 12pm to 10pm and look forward to welcoming you back.
We would also like to make our guests aware that, for the time being, we are unable to serve alcoholic drinks during the week. Our full alcoholic drinks selection will still be available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Good morning. Because I’ve caught a bad cold, the opening party has to be postponed until after the restaurant opens. While we have this time, we can review some details about the new restaurant,such as service, food, drinks, staff teamwork, customers’ dining experience, areas for improvement, and so on. I hope Sunday’s opening will give both new and returning customers a fresh experience unlike what they had at Coulsdon.

After numerous tests and refinements, Chef Eddie has finally found a brand-new companion for 5A Japanese Wagyu—Suzaku’s specially crafted Korean barbecue sauce. The perfect union of the two brings out the unique charm of the Wagyu even more. We’ve given it an incredibly romantic name: “Seoul Meets Snow.” Paired with our signature Harry’s Magic Box and the Flame of Love, I dare say this is one of a kind in Caterham—and even in London.

After more than four months, it’s finally time to unveil this to everyone—we can‘t wait. Chef Eddie and his team of students from different eras, with immense passion, will tell the story of an unparalleled Japanese izakaya culture. Everyone is welcome to come and experience it.

- Walk southeast on Brighton Road towards Station Approach.
- Take the second left onto Chipstead Valley Road.
- Continue walking for about 12 minutes until you reach the destination.
From Coulsdon South station:
- Walk northwest on Brighton Road towards Marlpit Lane.
- Turn right onto Station Approach and then into Chipstead Valley Road.
- Continue walking for about 17 minutes until you reach the destination.
By car:
- Take A23 and turn into Brighton Road, follow signs to Coulsdon Town Centre.
- Turn left onto Station Approach and then left again into Chipstead Valley Road.
- Free parking is available around the restaurant after 6:30 pm, except on Sundays.
