¡Viva España!
As this World Cup draws to a close we congratulate Spain...we are still a little bruised but it's time to move on and enjoy the rest of the summer .
For us the absolute stars of this World Cup have been our AMAZING team you have worked incredibly hard in the heat and shifts that were outrageously busy. Manic bar shifts, getting drinks to thirsty customers as quickly as possible, shifts in the middle of the night, moving furniture to every possible view of a TV, installing extra TV's & making food in extreme heat to keep customers happy, stocking up early and finishing late. 100% Conquering Heroes!
Tournaments like this help to keep the lights on in small businesses like ours and the atmosphere for the England matches was truly electric so THANKYOU to our staff, to our friends & customers and of course to our (we still believe and we look forward to doing it all again)
To our staff and customers you make The Conquering Hero the fabulous little boozer that we know and love.

The dream of bringing it home may have ended, but… England finished 3rd! 🥉🦁👏Well done lads, what a final match it was!
Not quite the one we wanted, but we’ll take the bronze, dust ourselves off, and do what we do best… turn football heartbreak into a good excuse for food and drinks. 🍻⚽
Tonight, we cheer on Spain! 🇪🇸❤️
Join us for the World Cup Final as Spain take on Argentina, with FREE Spanish tapas to help heal those post-England-final blues. 🇪🇸🫒🧀🥖🍷
Patatas bravas, chorizo, olives, crostini and more — because nothing says “we’re over it” like eating our way through another country’s cuisine. 😅
And if anyone asks… we’ve always had a soft spot for Spain. Especially when they’re playing Argentina. 👀
Sangria anyone? 🍷
¡Vamos España! 🇪🇸

The pain is real... 💔⚽
England v France tonight...
Not the final we dreamed of, but the battle for third place that none of us wanted. 😭
Still, we'll be watching, still shouting at the TV, and still convincing ourselves that third is basically first... after the two teams in the final. 😂
Come on, England! 🏴🍻

Right then, it's not coming home just yet. But @ we are proud of our lads for getting to the semi finals. Sports at that level requires commitment, strength, discipline. We can all sit around pint in hand and be critics but this tournament has brought trade to businesses like ours up and down the country, brought families together, gave friends a purpose to laugh and cry about, allowed the off side rule to be taught to little kids and those new to football. There is something magical about England match day atmosphere. We have knighted Harry, named a train station after Jude and Big Dan Burn...well he's my new favourite...howay the Lads!
Get yourselves home Gentlemen and thankyou for representing your Country. You are welcome for a beer anytime!
Next time hey....in the mean time...
TAPAS on Sunday night anyone?

It's not just a World Cup semi-final... it's England 🏴 vs Argentina 🇦🇷.
History. Drama. Passion. Decades of unfinished business.
This time, may the Hand of God be on England's side... preferably just for good luck. 😉
Get here early, soak up the atmosphere, and cheer on the Three Lions with us! 🍻⚽
Table bookings will be released for walk in's at 7:30pm. We'll also be keeping space available for walk-ins, so if you don't have a booking, come down early and we'll do our best to get you in.
