The French House, located on Dean Street, was a well-known pub and restaurant in the heart of Soho. It offered a cozy ambiance with a variety of thirty excellent champagnes and wines by the glass. Visitors from all walks of life, including artists, writers, actors and film stars visited the iconic watering hole. With its no music, no machines, no television and no mobile phones rule, it became a favorite for conversationalists.
The restaurant served food until 4 pm from Monday to Friday at the bar and upstairs. However, there was no evening food service except for a bar snack menu available from 5pm-7pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Despite being one of the best known pubs in Soho, The French House has not updated its profile for more than nine years and may be closed down now.
