We’re here for the the Coffee, the Gelato, the good times… ☕️🍨🎈🎉
We’ve been here for 7 years now and throughout that time our little independent coffee shop on the corner of Beaconsfield road has faced more controversy than I would have expected…🫣
There are many on both sides that feel passionately about the closure of King Charles road. ❌
I’ve learned to stay out of it 😅
Now, the newest addition is the rain garden. A small planted area, which has been constructed directly outside the shop 📍
Here’s how the process went ⬇️ We had no prior engagement from the powers that be. Our only two parking spaces were removed One of these areas is directly outside the takeaway window we installed specifically to move customers off of Beaconsfield road
Our newest problem ⬇️
We’re now receiving complaints from neighbours that our customers are standing in the new planted areas, kids are walking on plants and they want us to do something about it. ✋
This shouldn’t be a burden that falls upon our staff. They should not have to watch out of the window for where people are standing and have to Police a public place 👮🏻☕️
They didn’t sign up for that and I already make their lives hard enough with last minute Easter egg hunt’s, Christmas trees and various other unreasonable demands 😅
There should have been a small amount of engagement rather than turning up with a digger one day and building this thing. 🗣️
I will contact Kingston council to see what measures can be put in place to better protect the area…
HOWEVER…
Until then, could I PLEASE ask that if you’re making the trip to see us, enjoying some time with friends and family by this new garden, you refrain from standing within the planted area… 🙏

Today’s Easter Egg Hunt!🕵🏻♂️
Meet at Coffee on the corner for a briefing at 10am!📍
The hunt will start after the briefing, with hunters having to search throughout the kids area of Alexandra park and around the coffee shop for their Eggs!🔎🐣
When you find an egg, take it to .otc to claim your prize! 🏆🍨☕️
There will be a select number of Eggs with codes written inside, these eggs will match up with mystery prizes! 🎁
If you find an egg with no code, you’re still a winner; every egg can be exchanged at the shop for a scoop of Easter themed gelato or any hot drink! ☕️🍨

1️⃣ Once you’ve found an egg, you’re a winner, step aside and save some for the rest of us!
2️⃣ One prize per person!
3️⃣ Lily the Easter bunny will be making an appearance, you’re welcome to get photos with her
4️⃣ This is FREE, just turn up, hunt and have fun!

We’ve come to the end of our annual Christmas Tree season at Coffee on the corner and we’ve all had a blast! 🌲
For the last couple of years we have donated a Christmas Tree to our friends over at . This year, thanks to all of you; we’ve managed to go one step further and donate a whopping £1000 to assist them in their efforts to keep people off of the streets this Christmas.
This money will go towards funding their winter shelter and providing their service users with bedding, clothing and toiletries.

To reach the location at Beaconsfield Road in Surbiton, one can take the train to either Surbiton station or Tolworth station. From Surbiton station, take bus number 281 towards Hounslow, and get off at the Elgar Ave stop. From here, walk for about 5-7 minutes to arrive at the destination.
Alternatively, if traveling by car or bike, head towards Ewell Road and turn onto Raeburn Avenue. Take a left onto Langley Avenue and continue straight ahead until reaching Beaconsfield Road. The location will be on the left-hand side of the road. Limited on-street parking is available nearby.
