The Gleaner's community living room is launching next Thursday at The Hornbeam centre!

⏰11-3pm every Thursday from 7th November (excluding 26/12/24 and 02/01/25)

❤️Everyone welcome

🥘Free hot meal, hot drink

🎨Free creative activities and drop in services (see timetable attached)

Although the cafe may now be shut on Friday's and Saturday's, we will still be holding a warm friendly space every Thursday from next week until March, with hot food and drinks available.

The winter months can be tough for many reasons, and we hope that our community living room can be an opportunity to bring people together over some delicious, nutritious and free hot food.

We will also be hosting some lovely people from all over Waltham Forest to run free drop in services and creative activities. There is no pressure to get involved if you don't feel like it, but the offer is there if you would like to get your creative juices flowing and maybe start making some Christmas presents.

❤️BLACK HISTORY MONTH LINE UP❤️

Black History month is just round the corner and we’re really excited to announce our gorgeous lineup of events, celebrating and remembering the huge and wide reaching impact of Black heritage and culture and its’ integral part of British history ❤️

💥Thursday 24th October - Community meal and film screening of the first Black British musical: Babymother.

🎲Friday 18th October - A fun, social dominoes night with delicious Vegan Carribean Food. All levels welcome.

🔥Thursday 10th October - Community meal and film screening about the life of HERO Harriet Tubman, an abolitionist and political activist.

🥙Cafe vibes - We will also be providing dominoes and creative activities in the cafe for anyone who wants to come down and visit us in the daytime.

❤️30% of all our ticket sales will be donated to the amazing , an East London Charity supporting African & Caribbean heritage women affected by domestic & sexual abuse.

To reach your destination on Hoe Street in Leyton, you have a couple of options for public transport and driving.

**Driving/Parking:**
If you're driving, head towards Leyton via the A12 or A406 depending on your starting location. Once you arrive at Hoe Street:
- Look for parking options along the street or nearby residential areas. Be mindful of any parking restrictions that may apply.
- There are also some pay-and-display car parks in the vicinity if street parking is not available.
