Final gig of the summer!! 🎷☀️
Mambista with Michael 'Bammi' Rose
Sunday 6 September, 6pm

Respect is due to the elders. Bammi was an original member of the genre-busting Cymande, he’s played alongside everyone from Aswad and Jazz Jamaica to Paul Simon and Miriam Makeba.

Bammi will be touring the UK throughout the Summer with Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra where he has been a mainstay for 20 plus years. We are extremely happy that he is able to fit us into his schedule for his patented selection of vintage joyous jazz, ska and reggae.

Live Music with Mambista and Grupo Lokito 🎸🥁
Sunday 26 July, 6.30pm

There's something special about live music outdoors as the evening light softens. Join us in the heart of Brockwell Park, away from the hustle and bustle, for salsa rhythms, Congolese grooves, food, drinks, and a dance amongst the flowers.

Grupo Lokito fuses two great musical styles in a glorious cocktail of Congolese and Cuban sounds. Led by Wonder Woman aka Sara McGuinness. Grupo Lokito guarantee hip-swinging mayhem with their enticing dance moves, evocative songs and sensuous rhythms.

Previous gigs include South Bank Centre, The Sage, Gateshead, WOMAD, African Oyé, and the EFG London Jazz Festival.

Become a Lead Volunteer at BPCG 🫶

We are looking for a handful of people to become Lead Volunteers: getting hands-on experience and joining a community of people who genuinely care about keeping our garden and projects as successful as possible. There's always a chance to chat with others and a good cup of tea involved too! Roles are project or session-based, time-limited (or reviewed regularly), and backed by staff and fellow volunteers. Take a look at the roles listed below or propose your own.

Interested? If something appeals, come and find us in the seating circle (or if it’s raining, in the upper greenhouse) on 25th July from 2-3pm for a chat. No preparation needed, just turn up and say hello. Or if you can't make it, drop BPCG General Manager, Rebecca, an email at [email protected] and we'll find a time that works.

If you are an existing volunteer who'd like to be part of this process, whether that's coming along to the July session to meet prospective leads, or having a say in who takes on a role that sits alongside yours, just let us know.

We are looking for a:
- Volunteer Champion
- Biodiversity Lead
- Cooking Lead
- DIY Lead
- Digital Comms Lead
