Gig at the Greenhouses: Mambista with Ducato Piotrowski 🎸
Sunday 5 July, 6.30pm
Join us out in the garden for a chilled evening of Gypsy Jazz, Gypsy Swing, Jazz Manouche, Hot Club-style Jazz, or whatever you want to call the music invented by Romani Jean “Django” Reinhardt (1910–1953) and French jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli.
Guitarist extraordinaire Ducato was born into the tradition in Poland to a Roma family and carries the flame with passion and virtuosity, and has played everywhere from Pizza Express Jazz Club to the Royal Festival Hall.

We're looking for two freelance Education Officers to join our team at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses to help deliver engaging, hands-on, nature-based learning experiences for children, young people and families.
This freelance role will initially focus on supporting our Kids' Nature Summer Holiday Club, with opportunities for further work throughout the year including school sessions, holiday activities, family events and exciting new initiatives.
📍 Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses, Herne Hill
🕒 Freelance, sessional work (typically Monday-Wednesday between 9am–3pm)
💷 £19/hour
We are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve and particularly welcome applications from people currently underrepresented in environmental education and horticulture.

Fermentation Workshop: Summer Edition 🌶️
Saturday 11 July, 1pm
Learn how to make your own kimchi and take your fermentation journey to the next step with delving into the how-tos with fermented drinks.
Join Melanie for our fermentation workshop using seasonal ingredients where you’ll become confident in lacto-fermentation techniques at this hands-on class. We will make a summer kimchi and learn about fermented drinks using the abundance from the gardens.
We will talk through a little history as well as different techniques from around the world and have an opportunity to enjoy a tasting plate showcasing assorted ferments.

Sharing Plates & Summer’s Abundance: A Seasonal Supper Club 🍅🍴
Thursday 23 July, 6.30pm
Following the success of their supper club series in 2025, Lucy & Diva return to the greenhouses to celebrate Summer with an ode to abundant harvests, verdant gardens and long slow evenings.
Experience a four-course dinner inspired by the season’s produce, unbounded by cuisine and infused with exciting ferments.

Our Summer Plant & Preserves Fair is this Sunday afternoon! 🪴
Join us for a chance to peruse our amazing selection of plants, jams, chutneys, cordials and more, all grown and made on site by our brilliant volunteers. Plus we'll have delicious food and refreshments, free kids' crafts and a performance from Brixton Tatterjacks Morris Dancers at 2.30pm!
Stop by for lunch and enjoy a delicious vegan curry (pre-order to guarantee yourself a bowl and help us plan ahead). And as always, our cake table will be groaning under the weight of choice!
Why not come along on Sunday and treat yourself or pick up a thoughtful gift with a homemade touch. All profits from this event go towards keeping BPCG open 7 days a week for our educational work with local primary and SEND schools and volunteering sessions.

Looking for something creative, outdoorsy and hands-on this summer holiday?
Join us for nature-based holiday activities including crafts, gardening, wildlife discovery, cooking, games and outdoor exploration.
🌱 Ages 4–6 and 7–11
🗓 Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays throughout the summer holidays
⏰ Drop off from 10.45am, pick up by 3pm
🎟 £38 per child
With small group sizes, experienced educators and a unique garden setting, children can explore, create and connect with nature in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Willow Basket Weaving Workshop 🧺
Sunday 19 July, 10am - 5.30pm
Come along and enjoy a day of creativity, learning the traditional craft of willow weaving. You will make an elegant willow bowl or basket which you can take home at the end of the day.
In this 6.5 hour workshop you will learn about the various types of willow you can weave with and the differences between living willow and basket makers willow. You will become familiar with tradition tools such as the bodkin and rapping iron.

Hands-On Indian Cooking Workshop & Shared Lunch with Lucy & Diva
Sunday 28 June, 10am - 2pm
Join chefs Lucy and Diva to explore “Indian” food contextualised within the British foodscape, focusing on seasonal and low-waste principles. You will learn concepts and techniques to build confidence in departing from recipes and cooking Indian-inspired food at home.
This practical cooking session will end with a delicious vegan/vegetarian "Thali" style shared lunch.

BPCG Summer Plant & Preserves Fair 🌿 🍅

Join us for the BPCG Summer Plant & Preserves Fair. We’ll have a range of plants all lovingly propagated and cared for by our amazing team of garden volunteers. Plus our shop will be stocked with seasonal jams, marmalades and chutneys, all made by our volunteers in the kitchen, alongside jars of local honey: treat yourself or pick up a thoughtful gift with a homemade touch. There will also be music from the Brixton Tatterjacks Morris and free kids’ craft activities.
We’ll have a hot lunch, tea and cakes, botanical cocktails, local craft beer and organic wine available in the barn.
