Wednesday 21 October is a very important day to us as we celebrate the Hindu festival of Bijaya Dashami. Please forgive us for taking this day as a holiday and being closed.
Dashain is the most significant, longest, and most anticipated festival in Nepal, lasting for 15 days. It celebrates the victory of the Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the ultimate triumph of good over evil.
21 October 2026 is Bijaya Dashami or The Day of Blessings - the climax of the entire festival. Elders apply Tika (a mixture of crimson vermilion powder, rice, and yogurt) and Jamara onto the foreheads of younger family members.
This ritual symbolizes protection, prosperity, and blessings. accompanied by gifts or monetary tokens (Dakshina).
The festival is deeply centered around family reunions, renewal of community bonds, and receiving blessings from elders.

The biggest THANK YOU to everyone who came and supported our fundraiser meals for Nepal on 20 & 21 September.
THANK YOU also to all of you who made extra and/or separate donations.
We were blown away by your support and kindness and we loved hosting these two meals for a cause that has touched every one of us here at Annapurna.
AMAZINGLY, we thought we might raise around £1,300 but we ACTUALLY raised £2,750 and we are absolutely thrilled.
This sum is the equivalent of c. 560,000 Nepalese rupees – and that will make a real difference to the relief & rehabilitation operations.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you, our very special London family.

🎃 NEXT UP - EAST SHEEN’S SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN HUNT – AND WE’RE ON THE MAP! 👻
We’re delighted to be part of the East Sheen Halloween Hunt again this year! It’s one of our favourite community events, and we can’t wait to welcome all the little witches, wizards, ghosts, ghouls and monsters who’ll visit Annapurna along the way.
Join the hunt on Saturday 24 October. Pick up your map from Hare and Hounds, follow the trail around East Sheen to find hidden letters and collect treats, then head back to the pub to reveal the secret phrase and claim your prize!

Join us for a charity meal in support of Nepal. We will donate 75% of your ticket price to the Government of Nepal’s Official Disaster Relief Appeal, supporting search and rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The catastrophic floods of 26 August caused unimaginable loss, impacting families not just in Nepal but also around the world. Lives and livelihoods have been lost, many people are still unaccounted for and considerable humanitarian support is urgently needed.
To act and do something feels incredibly important to me and the team here at Annapurna. We are all Nepalese, and our hearts go out to everyone affected. Many of you have also kindly asked how you can help.
We are therefore holding two special fundraising meals:
SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER
2-course set lunch with one drink included (w**e, b**r or soft drink)

MONDAY 21 SEPTEMBER
