Tart Clapham

Tart Clapham Tart Clapham, a unique coffee shop and restaurant that specialized in tarts, salads and sweet goodies, was first opened in 2015 overlooking the scenic Clapham Common. Run by Jason and Adam, Tart quickly made a name for themselves with their frequent changing menu of tasty tarts. Alongside their amazing coffee, tea and juices, Tart became one of London’s most loved bakery and coffee shops. Unfortunately, this restaurant has been permanently closed.

Dear Tart lovers,

We’ve baked our last chorizo tart, scoffed our last salted-fudge brownie and bashed out our final oat flat white. We’re so sad to share that we won't be reopening either of our lovely cafés.

The reasons are fairly obvious - making money in the food industry is a massive challenge as it is but who knew a global pandemic was around the corner? Looking at it every which way, we won’t weather the storm.

Backed by a wonderful team of chirpy, can-do, talented people, we put 6 great years into Tart. From an idea Jace shared with Adam over a coffee in Dublin one day, to a side-hustle market stall in Herne Hill and then two cafés and more, it’s been exhilarating and exhausting but also massively rewarding. We’ve loved getting to know you all and hopefully making your tummies happy over that time.

If you run a food business and need any amazing new additions to your team, please message us and I’d love to share the names of our team with you.

This pic represents what Tart was all about for us - making food that people enjoyed with a group of fun people who became friends, more than just colleagues. That was worth getting out of bed for at 4:55am every morning (poor Jace).

If you find yourself desperate for a wedge of red velvet or gagging for a gluten-free raspberry brownie, then head on over to Jace’s new Instagram (which he’ll have to learn how to use): . He’s going to start baking tasty morsels for you all.

Thank you all for supporting us. It’s been a blast.

All the best,
Ads, Jace and Team Tart

What people say

Tart Clapham is a must-visit restaurant and coffee shop for anyone who loves delicious tarts, fresh salads, and sweet treats. The founders of Tart have elevated the humble quiche to become an exciting and tasty pastry-case-of-goodness that will leave you wanting more. With a frequently-changing menu of tarts, you'll always find something new and exciting to try. The coffee, tea, and juices are amazing too! Run by partners Jason and Adam, Tart Clapham overlooks Clapham Common and offers a cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. It's no wonder they've expanded to a second location on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich. We can't wait for more branches to follow! If you're looking for a unique dining experience with delicious food and drinks, Tart Clapham is the place to be.
