Every year the pesky (that's being polite) birds try to steal the fruit that will make my wonderful jam. Every year we spend a lot of time netting our fruit bushes so that you can enjoy what I produce. The gooseberries have got mini fruit on already and here is one of the bushes, hopefully fully protected.

Sorry not many posts lately, some of you may know that Shan slipped down the stairs before Christmas and broke a bone in her back, followed by a week in hospital. This has set us back, to say the least.
Sad news for those of you who like to come and socialise on the Friday market in the pavilions. Shan's Homemade is giving up the market, last day tomorrow 11th April, it has become financially unstustainable. The footfall in the market has dropped off so much this year we wonder for how much longer it will carry on.
HOWEVER, SHAN'S HOMEMADE LIVES ON, we will still be making preserves and love cooking so we will be making pies and cakes and other goodies to order. Just contact us either here or via email or on the phone.
Thanks to all our loyal supporters and hoping that you will stay in touch. Shan.

We have made Blood Orange marmalade, the oranges have arrived in the shops. Hooray

We wish a prosperous 2025 to all our friends and customers.
Shan's Homemade will be back on the Friday Market on the 24th January. We always take a chunk of January off to make marmalade as the Seville and blood oranges are only available in that month and early February. Also Shan is still suffering a lot from her pre-Christmas slip down the stairs but we hope that she will be fit enough at the end of the month.
Happy New Year.

Some good news, Shan fans. Shan's Homemade will be back on the market tomorrow, 13th. However, after a week in hospital Shan is still waiting to find out what treatment she will receive following her fall.
Phil will be in attendance along with the lovely Mandy, who is normally selling her amazing bath-bombs on the market, but is helping us instead. See you there, hopefully, but without Shan's pies, sorry.
