🔧Repairs - just a reminder of how it works! Please give us a call or email us on [email protected] - the workshop is open Wednesday-Saturday 10am-5pm. We can’t book anything in or give info over insta DMs. Each repair requires a diagnostic appointment (£40 which is then deducted from your final bill) before we can give quotes etc. each unit and repair is unique!
Finally, we are very busy at the moment and so there may be a considerable wait, we appreciate your patience - component level engineers are a dying breed, we really need at least one more engineer but have struggled to find them!⚙️

Happy birthday to Shamil! It was Sham’s vision to have a coffee shop in Armstrong 8 years ago which transformed his parent’s business into what we see today. There was very little else in the area at that time and the repair shop really hadn’t changed much in 30 + years so it was a leap of faith - we think he’s done a great job! 👏 💪❤️

The International Women’s Day theme this year is ‘Empower, Inspire, Elevate‘, so it seems appropriate to celebrate Shalma. From coming to this country from a young age, navigating a new world and new language, to raising a family, to running all things Armstrong; Shalma never waivers. We are all full of love and admiration for this incredible woman- small in stature but mighty in power. Shalma empowers, inspires and elevates us all on a daily basis ❤️

Another day, another repair… we have had some really great units in recently! What would you like to see T working on?

Happy birthday to the real Mr T! In true T style he is celebrating by coming to work and getting on with some repairs 😂. His knowledge, patience and enthusiasm are unmatched and without him there would be no Armstrong. Luckily for us, he shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. We love and appreciate you and know that many others do too!❤️

‘Then I knew I’d stumbled into a place of actual magic.’
Lovely words from Ed Oxley in Issue 1 of .mag
It’s a real joy to be featured in a ‘tactile’ magazine like this - one of the things we value in analogue audio. Get yourself a copy and see what T and Shamil had to say. Please do check the magazine and the idea behind it - it’s beautifully put together!

Does vinyl sound better than a CD? Can you tell if a recording has digital or analogue origins? Is it the sound that’s appealing with analogue or the multifaceted interfaces you often get? The digital vs analogue argument is much debated but for us the joy is often in the fact that analogue was made to last, built to be repaired , unlike some more modern audio equipment. However one of the biggest factors is nostalgia- that moment when you are transported back to a different time; be it a memory or feeling - your grandfather’s living room or a recording of a lost voice. These are the moments we cherish when repairing audio equipment for customers.
