A few menu changes this week including the return of one of our favourite ingredients - bottarga with butter and linguine.

Some beautiful figs in an almond tart - a small marker of late summer, just as autumn starts to edge in. And the first damsons of the year have landed on our panna cotta.

Head on over to our website to see what’s on offer, or take a peak at the highlights on our bio page.

We like having a few guest wines on the list. Not many - just the odd bottle that does something ours can’t. This is one of them.

Planeta Chardonnay, Menfi DOC, 2024.

Menfi sits on Sicily’s south-western coast, where limestone hills run down to the Mediterranean and the sun does most of the work. Not the Sicily of black volcanic soil and Etna - somewhere flatter, hotter, closer to the water.

This one spends a year in French oak…and it shows. Stone fruit, a little citrus, something salty underneath that keeps it from getting heavy. Burgundy comes to mind, but this could only be Sicilian.

We like it with something that has weight to match - a creamy risotto or a seafood pasta with real body to the sauce.

Paired here with:

Scallop risotto
Lobster tagliatelle
Octopus ragù linguine

A light summery tortelli dish, filled with ricotta and a glut of fresh herbs, finished with broad beans and crispy prosciutto.

We did a version of this years ago, long before the restaurant existed. Back then, we ran supper clubs in an old ice factory called London Cooking Project in Battersea, with Alice at the helm - some of you may remember them?

It was a family affair with Dickie running the bar and his kids on front of house!

This was one of our favourite dishes from that time, so we’re happy to be able to share it with you on summer menu.

Available as part of our lunch deal - two courses for £25, three for £29 💫

A postcard from the Maremma 🇮🇹

Figs from the back garden, pork belly from Federico Ferri, the local macellaio, tomatoes and lemons from the farmer’s market in Venturina, the rooftops of Campiglia Marittima. A cold b**r.

Slow days in the place that started all this.

Tanqueray 0.0%. Hibiscus. Ginger. Lime and lemon, both squeezed to order.

Whether you’re at Maremma for dinner or round the corner at Il Maremmano for sundowners and vinyl on the decks, this is the drink for it. Long evenings, doors open, nowhere you need to be.

Happy Friday folks 💫
