Around 3 cafés, restaurants and pubs close their doors every day in the UK. Behind every closure are families, livelihoods, dreams, communities and places where memories are made.

As hospitality businesses, we’re facing rising costs across the board: energy, wages, ingredients, rent, business rates, N.I, VAT. Yet there’s only so much we can increase prices before customers simply can’t afford to visit.

We are totally passionate about serving fresh, high-quality food, but the reality is that the better the produce, the smaller the margin often becomes. Every day, hospitality businesses are balancing quality, value and survival.

One of the biggest challenges facing our sector is VAT. Hospitality businesses pay 20% VAT, while many other countries support their hospitality industry with rates closer to 10%, helping to protect jobs, communities and local independent businesses.

That’s why we’re proud to support the new campaign led by and many others fighting for a fairer future for hospitality.

We’re also incredibly lucky to have a fantastic Head Chef leading our kitchen, who has worked alongside Tom Kerridge and shares the same passion, dedication and standards that make our industry so special.

Hospitality is about so much more than food and drink. It’s about bringing people together, creating jobs, supporting local suppliers and being at the heart of our communities.
