Did you know there has been a pub on this corner since 1666? 🍻
This incredible photograph shows The George in the late 1800’s, before the building we know today was rebuilt in the 1920s.
Over its 360 year history, the pub has changed names a couple of times, from The Great Tree to The Rat & Parrot, but it has always found its way back to its original name, The George.
Imagine the stories this corner could tell. From horse drawn carts making their way up Haverstock Hill to serving the local community more than three centuries later.
We are incredibly proud to be the custodians of one of Hampstead’s oldest pub sites.

To get to the pub and restaurant located at Haverstock Hill in London, you can take the Northern Line of the London Underground and get off at Belsize Park station. From there, it is a short walk to Haverstock Hill.
Alternatively, if you are driving, there are several parking options available nearby. There is a pay-and-display car park on Belsize Terrace just a short walk from Haverstock Hill. Additionally, there may be some street parking available in the surrounding area, though it may be limited.
