WE GROWING!!!
I wanted to take a moment to welcome two new gems to the Dark Arts Wholesale Team.
Orla & Jade.
Orla who is based in Glasgow will be looking after our wholesale in Scotland and the North and joins us from .coffee where she worked for almost four years working up from a barista to Area Manager looking after and running their two highly regarded Glasgow locations.
Jade who will be working alongside Alice here in London, joins us from the powerhouse that is . Jade worked for Ozone for 5 years working her way up from a barista finishing up as a senior account manager.
Both of these two new signings are bringing such a great positive energy to the team and we couldn’t be happier.
Please if you can send your regards to them both below and make them feel welcome when we next see them irl.
Thanks everyone x

Cata export is teaming up with Andrew Tolley and iconic WOC runners to present this very first LCF edition followed by a cupping of Cata’s harvest highlights. This is a charity event and donations will go to Girls Gotta Run.

Join us bright eyed and bushy tailed on Friday 15th May at 6.30am to grab your t-shirt and a fresh brew.

Meeting point is at Dealer x Dark Arts , 123 Bethnal Green Road and this 5K run will be lead and paced by our good friend Paul Ross of Special Guests

This is a friendly non-competitive run where everyone one is free to come and mingle. To paraphrase Andrew Tolley: “if you can’t chat to the person running next to you, you’re running too fast”

Run is absolutely free, rsvp with link in bio

Kicking off Sunday we have our great friends
A.M.O.C. is a specialty coffee roastery based in the Van Nellefabriek in Rotterdam, focused on rare coffees, precise roasting and a design-driven approach to quality.
Founded from a love for design, craftsmanship and sourcing, A.M.O.C. brings together expressive coffees, carefully selected equipment and a clear, no-nonsense way of working.
Next we have one of the most exciting and vibrant brands in the game, .possession
“People Possession makes coffee. We call it New Wave Coffee.
Careful sourcing. Serious fermentation. Precise roasting. It comes in cans.
Underground culture. Not a reference. A default.
Product first. No story. No scene. You, the can, the coffee.
The team comes from specialty coffee, design, and music.
That’s all you need to know.
Goodbye.”
Finally closing our the week we have another good friend of Dark Arts, .coffee
“Rascal is a roastery I started almost six years ago, to celebrate and spotlight Guatemalan coffees.
My family has been farming coffee for over 150 years, and my tatara tatara abuelo started that
legacy by selling his first crop in London. Today, I’m proud to roast those beans in London —
alongside lots from other Guatemalan producers I’ve known for years.”

2nd announcement for the Saturday coming in hot:

First up we have
Cartwheel Coffee is a Nottingham-based specialty roastery focused on sourcing, roasting, and sharing exceptional seasonal coffees with total transparency. Run by a tight-knit team of three, they stay hands-on with every part of the process — from quality control and profiling to building lasting relationships with producers and wholesale partners. With over 50 coffees released each year and a strong commitment to fair pricing at origin, Cartwheel has become one of the UK’s most respected modern coffee roasters.

Next up we got ,

Kolo Coffee is a Berlin-based specialty coffee roastery known for its clean, expressive coffees and beautifully understated approach to branding and hospitality. Focused on thoughtful sourcing and precision roasting, they’ve built a reputation for coffees that highlight clarity, sweetness, and balance while staying approachable and easy to enjoy. Blending modern café culture with a deep respect for quality and craft, Kolo has become a standout name within Berlin’s thriving coffee scene.

And closing off the day on Satuday we have our London friends

“The name ‘Calico’ comes from the raw cotton fabric used in fashion design for pattern making. It represents a starting point where ideas take shape, carrying both intention and possibility. A beginning that holds everything.

Calico also refers to the calico cat, which inspired our logo as a small and warm detail within the brand.

From origin to cup, we pursue clarity in coffee.
We take pride in a clean clarity approach to coffee. We support producers who are deeply dedicated to green coffee cultivation, transparency in processing at origin, and expressing the true character of each coffee.”

Starting the Saturday announcements, we have the morning with these two big European names,

First up, from Amsterdam
“Friedhats Coffee is founded by Dylan and myself(Lex) in 2016
We started roasting coffee because back then there wasn’t a lot of light roasted coffee in the Netherlands, if any.
We were young, full of ideas and convinced we could do better. So we started a roastery and taught
ourselves how to roast coffee that we wanted to drink: light roasted Kenyans for espresso. Back then,
nobody was doing that.
I guess we were a bit anti-establishment at the time. (maybe we still are) We didn’t really care about profit that much and we didn’t really have a plan for the future of the company. We just wanted to do what we liked, have fun and stay away from what others were doing.
That’s how we came up with the bottles with the funky design; we didn’t want to put our coffee in a kraft paper bag with a white sticker on it, like the rest was doing at the time.

I don’t think we ever thought we would make it this far hahaha.
But here we are now: ten years later. A little older, a little wiser but still a couple of guys doing what we like, searching for great coffees and roasting them as light as possible.
The only difference is that we have a great team around us now to help us with what we do.

And there’s a lot more Friedhats-stickers on a lot of toilets now, compared to when we started.”

Next up we have ,
Taith Coffee is a Europe-based specialty coffee company built around a love of travel, connection, and beautifully expressive coffees sourced from some of the world’s most exciting producers. With a focus on clarity, balance, and modern roasting, they’ve developed a reputation for coffees that feel both approachable and deeply considered. Combining thoughtful sourcing with a clean visual identity and genuine passion for the craft, Taith represents the new wave of specialty coffee brands helping shape the European coffee scene.

THE CUPPING ROOM SESSIONS
We are back with more info this time on FRIDAY, the 15th line-up:

First up we have
Process Coffee is a Belfast-based speciality coffee company known for vibrant, expressive coffees and some of the most distinctive packaging in the industry. Founded by Ben, whose down-to-earth nature and genuine passion for coffee have made him a much-loved figure within the specialty coffee community, Process has built a reputation that feels both creative and deeply authentic.

Next up we have
Cofinet is one of the coffee industry’s most respected green importers and we’re excited to have Beth hosting the cupping at our event — Beth spent years working as a roaster prior to her time at Cofinet, giving her unique insight into how roasteries operate and what they require from a trading partner. Beth’s knowledge, warmth, and deep understanding of coffee make her not only an amazing host, but also a hugely valued part of the wider coffee community.

Following we have our great friends at
Bluebird is a passion project for founder, , which has turned into a multi-award winning specialty roastery.
“We work out of a custom built roastery in a small towncalled Howick, in a beautiful part of South Africa. From here we focus on excellence through thoughtful sourcing and an obsession with roasting. Today we ship coffee to home users and businesses in over 50 countries, which still blows our minds and we are so grateful for all the love and support we receive. Coffee can be super pretentious and we hate that. We won’t dumb down quality to be approachable but through careful communication and an open, friendly attitude, we like to think we are inviting people in to this crazy, tasty, kinda mad obsession of ours.”

And finally from this announcement we have top European roasters,
3 Marks Coffee is a Barcelona-based specialty coffee company known for its beautifully sourced coffees, clean aesthetic, and uncompromising focus on quality from farm to cup. We are stoked to have them join us.

More announcements to come,

THE CUPPING ROOM SESSIONS
We are back with more info from Thursday the 14th line-up:
First up we got the powerhouse that is

“When the Dark Arts team calls, you answer!
The name Nostos comes from the Greek word ΝΟΣΤΟΣ, meaning the Homecoming— the idea of a journey worth the return—and it is the principle behind every coffee we roast.

On the table you’ll find our newest releases. We’ve been especially excited about this season.

Our standards are uncompromising at every step: from our strong, trusted relationships with the producers and importers we buy from, to the roast profiles built to bring out clarity—nothing leaves our roastery that we wouldn’t happily pour for ourselves. Come curious, bring your questions, and taste exactly where Nostos is right now.”

Next up we have from the US who are making waves all across Europe,

“Mirra was founded in December of 2022 with the establishment of an intentionally and exclusively Nordic-
style roastery in the United States as its aim. It is our goal for every lot we source, and every batch we roast to be nothing but outstanding; we judge this with relation to the purity and fidelity of each offering as it is expressed in the final cup—that its flavor is wholly and uniquely its own, and true to its varietal and terroir, rather than being the byproduct of roasting, fermentation, or other intrusive processing. Let it be bright, beautiful, true.”

And last but defintiely not least we have one of the most exciting new roasteries in the country

“Carter was started in 2025 by Danny and Sorley, and joined by Craig in November. At the core, Carter is a blend of passions: a technical understanding of product and craft, mixed with a love for building long-lasting relationships through coffee.

The mantra is simple: flavour first. We pick coffee based on taste, sourcing exciting lots from emerging and established farmers who value quality and innovation. Drawing on classic roasting techniques, we offer diverse, fun coffee designed for all palates.

We are based in Leith, Edinburgh and have recently opened a coffee shop as part of our roastery too”

We are super excited
