POSTCARDS FROM SDM: THE TRADER EDITION 🍌💌
Seven years of Seven Dials Market means seven years of brilliant independent food businesses doing what they do best.
From launch days to epic milestones, new menus to 9.5 million dishes sold (and counting), we’ve watched traders grow, adapt + build something of their own right here in the market.
Every corner of SDM has a story behind it. A recipe passed down, a dish dreamed up, a business started from scratch.
And that’s what makes this place what it is.
Here’s to every independent business (past + present) that’s filled this food hall with brilliant food, big ideas + stacks of personality over the last seven years. You lot are incredible💛

7 YEARS AGO, WE GOT THE KEYS TO A BANANA WAREHOUSE 🍌
Before Seven Dials Market was full of London’s best independent street food, it was a very different kind of place.
Thomas Neal’s Warehouse.
Cast iron beams. Brick arches. Bananas + cucumbers.
Then in 2019, we got our hands on it.
What followed was months of building, painting, problem-solving, pop-up offices literally anywhere + probably more trips to the hardware shop than we’d care to count.
Swipe to see the early days of Seven Dials Market - the build, the team, the first signs of what this place could become + plenty of moments we clearly thought were worth documenting.
Fast forward seven years + over 15 million of you have come through these doors, eaten countless dishes, sunk a fair few pints + helped turn this old warehouse into a proper home for independent food businesses.
What started as the first step indoors for KERB has grown into something much bigger than we ever imagined.
Seven years.
15 million visitors.
One very special market.

HOLD THE PHONE. The SDM Chaat from Kolkati is calling 📞
This week’s team pick is a doozy. It might be *technically* classed as a side, but this Chaat gives more main character energy.
Bengali lentil fritters, chutneys, puffed rice + lime 😮💨 We can’t get enough of it.
Pick it as your side piece OR the main event. We don’t mind.

TEAM PICK OF THE WEEK!
Ellie, our Head of Content, confesses her obsession with the Spicy Fried Chicken Sando from Lucky’s Hot Chicken.
Can’t say we blame her in the slightest…
Find Lucky’s downstairs in the Banana Warehouse for some freakin’ perfect chicken that’ll knock your socks off (not literally, keep those socks on please) 🐔

You genuinely cannot go wrong with a Pasta al Pomodoro 🍝
Fresh rigatoni, a proper tomato sauce, finished with a snowfall of parmesan - Mezzo know exactly what they're doing. Perfect for lunch, perfect for dinner, perfect grab-and-go or sit-in-and-slurp-it-properly.
Simple done right, every time. Find 'em in Cucumber Alley 🥒

Don’t you dare spill a drop, the cucumber is watching 👀🥒
Let us introduce you to THE CUCUMBER ALLEY MARG.
El Rayo Tequila plus cool cucumber syrup, elderflower, lime, and a hint of green spice.
Named after our 1730s Covent Garden passageway once stacked with fresh cucumber crates - this one cuts straight to the point, just like the veg it’s named after.
For fans of Picantes, English Garden, East Side - this is your new one 🍸
