Even tho it has been just under 40 years that Flossie printed her t shirts for her stall on Camden Market- that finished in 1990 once she started again printing upstairs in Madam La Zongas during the week - it was as if it was only yesterday!

She did it thoroughly and every single one is ‚decorated’ with her love… Here are two more designs!

During the 1980’s Landlady Flossie had a stall on Camden Market for 10 years. She first started off selling 1950’s bric-a-brac and clothes she made out of 1950’s fabric - curtains and other vintage materials.

She then learnt to silk screen print - the old fashioned way by cutting the stencils from paper with a scalpel. These were mostly of music and dancing designs. Those were in the times of Margaret Thatcher and when she fell so did Flossie. In the recent year she decided to start designing and printing t-shirts again associated with the pub once more from paper stencils.

The latest design is of our two cats: Georging and Henry on the front and on the baks is printed: ‚I ❤️ Nags Cats’ along with the ever-popular ‘I’m Barred from Nags Head’ on the back and the pub itself printed on the front.

Also there is a new wall hanging ‘Last Night A DJ Saved My Life’ designed by Flossie and made by her talented friend Linda.

Who remembers their first holiday as a teenager without their parents? The hazy, drunken memories, feeling ill the next day, and the music blaring from every bar you walked past?

Here are a few photos of Flossie on her first holiday with friends in Clacton, 1974/75 (?). Jive Talkin’ by the Bee Gees seemed to be playing everywhere.

The other photos are from Ibiza, 1987/88 (?). Note the jokingly placed pink stiletto stuck in the sand, and the 28 outfits her friend had made and insisted on bringing with her, scattered all over the hotel room. Bamboléo by the Gipsy Kings was hugely popular in those days.

Bamboléo really reminds her of that holiday! And she definitely didn’t fall off her stilettos… honest! 😉

£500,000 raised and we’re only halfway there! ❤️

Our pubs have now raised an incredible £500k for our Make It A Million campaign and every penny tells a story.

Behind that number are teams giving their time, guests showing their generosity, communities coming together and moments that remind us what our pubs are all about.

We can only share a few of the many amazing stories and photos from our sites, but this milestone belongs to every single person who has helped make it happen. To our teams, guests and communities, thank you. Let’s keep going and Make It A Million! 🙌

As has become a tradition and as a ‘nod’ to Burns night Seán takes a departure from wine in January and taste whisky.

His love of whisky, and in particular Scottish single malt whiskies, goes back many years. Initially he was unaware of what is the difference between blended and malt whisky is and what single malt is.

What does single cask and cask strength mean?

So if you’re not sure of what exactly these differences are then come along and find out during a blind tasting. Even if you do know, then come and concentrate on flavour only, put aside any prejudices, and see what your favourite is before the BIG REVEAL!

If you love whisky or would just like to learn a bit more about it this is unmissable.
