Caliendo’s Gelato Caliendo's Gelato is an award-winning gelateria, coffee shop, ice cream parlor, and gelato shop located on Kentish Town Road. Caliendo's has been named the UK Parlour of the Year in 2023 and is known for its artisan gelato and desserts. However, currently, the business is temporarily closed due to ongoing building work. They are aiming to reopen on Saturday, February 17th. Please go to www.vatstheproblem.co.uk and put your name on the petition to reduce the vat in hospitality and SAVE all the local cafes, pubs and other venues that at current pay 20% and are struggling in this current environment. European countries currently pay 10%, Germany 7%, in the UK 3 pubs and cafes are shutting every week.
Hospitality venues are the hub of local communities and feel that we offer a place for people to meet, work and eat.

🥛Happy World Milk Day 🐄

Today we’re raising a scoop to all the dairy farmers who work tirelessly, 365 days a year, to produce one of nature’s most incredible product 🥛

A special shout-out goes to our friends at Red Barn Farm. They’re one of the loveliest, hardest-working families we know, and we’re incredibly proud to partner with them. It’s their dedication to rear happy and healthy cows that produce the richest, freshest milk and cream we’ve ever tasted, well it takes our gelato to a whole new level ☝️

The finest gelato starts with great ingredients, and every batch we make begins with the care, dedication and passion that goes into farming, we collect the milk raw and unhomogenised, then we gently pasteurise it to make our signature gelato base 🍨

Three years ago, we were presented with the inaugural Ice Cream Alliance UK Parlour of the Year 2023 award 🏆

Back then, we were still a small family-run gelato parlour in Kentish Town with big ambitions, long hours, aching feet, and far too much pistachio running through our veins

What most people don’t see behind awards are the 5am starts, the endless recipe testing, the winter months where you question your sanity making gelato in Britain but what keeps us going is the queues out the door in heatwaves, putting smiles on faces… and the community that keeps showing up 🫶

That award changed everything for us. It propelled us into mainstream media and gave us belief that doing things the old-fashioned way — making gelato fresh daily, sourcing quality ingredients, and refusing to cut corners, made a difference 🍨

Three years later, the business looks very different. We’ve grown into wholesale, events, collaborations, and our new production space… but the heart of what we do hasn’t changed one bit

Still artisan.
Still family-run.
Still slightly obsessed.

Thank you to everyone who supported us then and continues to support us now. We are loving every minute. 🍨🏆🇬🇧🇮🇹

A perfect excuse to celebrate one of our proudest collaborations yet… our Gold Quality Food Award-winning Earl Grey Tea gelato, created using the incredible

This flavour was never about throwing tea into milk and hoping for the best. It was about respecting both crafts properly. Slow infusions, balanced bergamot, proper dairy, and creating something that actually tastes like a luxurious cup of tea turned into gelato.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Caliendo’s Gelato Wholesale has officially achieved a 5 ⭐️ Food Hygiene Rating from Environmental Health Inspection in our new production facility

This inspection felt very different to our old parlour days in Kentish Town. Back then, the focus was naturally split between serving hundreds of customers, front-of-house operations, desserts, coffees, queues out the door and the daily theatre of a busy gelateria 🍨🍧

Now, moving into our next chapter primarily as a wholesale manufacturer, every part of our operation is centred around production standards, food safety, consistency and quality control at scale. From batch pasteurisation and allergen management to temperature logging, cleaning systems and production flow — the level of detail behind the scenes is enormous 📋

Our gelato has always started with doing the basics exceptionally well. Cleanliness, discipline, quality ingredients and proper artisan methods 🧑🏻‍🍳
