Two AA Rosettes for Shiuli 🌹🌹
We’re a little lost for words, so we’ll let the AA inspector do some of the talking. They loved our modern Indian cooking, inventive and contemporary but rooted firmly in tradition. They loved the warm, knowledgeable welcome from our front-of-house team. And they loved our calm dining room and bar in soft pastel greens.
This one belongs to everyone who makes Shiuli what it is. Chef Alfred and the kitchen, who turn seasonal British produce into India Unplugged every day. Our team on the floor, who make every table feel like family. The local growers, brewers and makers we’re proud to work with. And you, our guests, who’ve filled our tables since December 2021.
Thank you, Twickenham. We couldn’t ask for a better home.

An afternoon well spent 🍷
The Shiuli team swapped the pass for a tasting glass this week, as we spent an afternoon discovering the world of Antinori with their brand ambassador, Silvia Pampaloni Divino in Vino | Silvia Pampaloni.
The Antinori family has been making w**e in Tuscany for over six centuries, and Silvia brought every one of those stories to life: the hillsides, the vintages, and the people behind each bottle. In 2022, their Antinori nel Chianti Classico estate was named number one in the World’s Best Vineyards, and they’re a proud partner of JRE JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs, something we were delighted to celebrate together.
We tasted, we asked a lot of questions, and we talked at length about which w**es would sit best alongside our dishes. Afternoons like this are how we keep learning. When you ask us what to pour with your lamb chops, you’ll get an answer from someone who has tasted it, talked about it, and fallen a little bit in love with it.

The best part of the week starts tomorrow 💚
Thursday is for the after-work catch-up, with a cocktail at the bar and a few plates to share. Friday and Saturday are for the buzz, the clink of glasses and a table that keeps filling up. Sunday is for long, lazy lunches with the whole family gathered around.
However you gather, the table looks like this: plates passed from hand to hand, everyone trying a bit of everything. On the menu right now you’ll find our burrata chaat, the Keralan lamb and kohlrabi ishtew for cooler evenings, and the Shiuli lamb chops. To finish, there’s a poached pear with cinnamon and hazelnut ice cream, new for October 🍐

A Wonderful Taste of Twickenham! 💚
It was an absolute joy to be a part of A Taste Of Twickenham’s Tasting Trail Food Festival earlier this month.
A huge thank you to Lauri and the team for the incredible amount of work that went into bringing the festival together, and to Discover Twickenham BID for supporting such a brilliant celebration of our town.
A special thank you to everyone who stopped by Shiuli. It was wonderful to see so many regulars and new faces, and we hope you enjoyed the special taster menu we created for the day.
We were also honoured to welcome the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, Councillor Nancy Baldwin (Mayor of Richmond), to Shiuli during the festival. It was a pleasure to have her visit and be part of such a wonderful celebration of Twickenham. 💚
Seeing restaurants, pubs and independent businesses across the town centre buzzing with people was a lovely reminder of what makes Twickenham such a special place.
Thank you to all our neighbouring businesses who took part and helped make it such a success! 🙌

It’s Negroni Week! 🥃🌿
We’re celebrating with a special menu of four Negronis, and today we’re starting with our Monsoon Negroni.
At its heart is Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin, a sustainably made Indian craft gin from Meghalaya in north-east India. What makes it particularly special is that it’s distilled using purified rainwater from Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. 🇮🇳🌧️
We pair it with cardamom-chai spice and Campari to create our own Shiuli take on the classic Negroni - aromatic, spiced and beautifully bittersweet.
Come and try it this Negroni Week, alongside our Rose, White and Classic Negronis. 🥃
