This week, we say goodbye to San Fermin to make way for Hamararo—the latest seasonal rotation in our bright, filter brewing line.

We first met producer Tamiru Tadesse of Alo Coffee on a sourcing trip in January of this year. An inspiring rising figure in Ethiopia’s speciality coffee scene, Tamiru is deeply committed to community empowerment, supporting local farmers with training, seedlings, and fertiliser; a reflection of his core belief that exceptional coffee begins with well-equipped, knowledgeable producers, and a thriving community.

Hamararo is a washed coffee that showcases the bright citric acidity and delicate character that coffee from the Sidama region is renowned for.

Read more on Tamiru and shop Hamararo through the link in our bio.

What truly elevates this coffee is the intention behind it: Aliss’s regenerative farming practices, her focus on rare varietals like Gesha, and her deep respect for the surrounding ecosystem. This is a coffee rooted in place and purpose, and a reflection of a producer’s unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Experience a juicy, tropical cup that lingers with light, floral sweetness.

A message from the team at Charlotte Road.

We’re still here, brewing great coffee. The team at Charlotte Road will remain open throughout lockdown, serving from 0830 every day.

General Manager, Tom says that the team ‘feel incredibly connected to the community in Shoreditch and we don’t want to abandon them during lockdown. People really miss the routine and the friendships that we’ve formed through coming here.’

Him and Mael are on the dials this weekend serving Alko as espresso, and our newest El Salvadorian coffee, San Antonio, Semi-Washed as batch brew. This delicious single-origin coffee has notes of lychee, grapefruit and raspberry with a medium body, crisp acidity and long, caramel finish.

For more information, including our opening times at Charlotte Road, and Harbour Head in Cornwall, see the link in our bio.
