Available online and in store - worth buying presents for. I couldn’t love these anymore and hope you do too.

🔶DIDDY’S IS DIFFERENT🔶
Some of you may have noticed us softly launching over the last couple of weeks. There are some changes to proceedings here so I’ve been trying to get all in order (here’s hoping) before welcoming you all properly. For small places like us social distancing makes business - especially one where we operate on very tight margins and have always tried to be as affordable as possible - incredibly difficult. This has led to some big decisions. Number one - we are no longer doing food apart from pastries etc., yes I know you’ll miss the toasties, yes I’m sorry, if you would like a boring detailed explanation of why please write a letter of complaint to 69 Mare Street, E8 4RG and I will get back to you. Number two - we now have expanded our shop from a few items, to a full Diddymart! I’ve been working incredibly hard on this and have tried to get things you won’t find in lots of other places - if any, ethical things, fun things, small suppliers - all the blurb you usually hear, but I really really mean it. I look forward to introducing people to all the great suppliers I’ve found and in the meantime come on by for a marg, a coffee, or a shoppy. Our webshop is also now open with all products up if you want to have a butch. My mission was always to be a changeable space and I think through exhibitions, events, the bar, the cafe Diddy’s has shown itself to be as adaptable as I’d hoped - this is the biggest change yet but I can’t wait for the next phase.
Last but not least a massive thank you to and her incredible collection of power tools, without whom I wouldn’t have got these double doors back open.

Alongside all hospitality businesses I’m currently trying to work out what to do in our current weird persona non grata limbo the government have left us in. When massive corporations say that this is not survivable it makes it all feel insurmountable. But for the last 3 years I’ve tried to bring something positive to my corner of the city, whether that’s still possible will be seen over the next hours or days, temporary closure - if not enforced - may be the only option looking out onto the incorrigible Mare Street looking so quiet. For now we’re open and will try and bring you a bit of joy IRL and online. I feel lucky to be a happy and healthy person with a strong support system, it’s hard to feel too sorry for yourself knowing that there are so many much more vulnerable people out there. So... if we’re all going to be stuck indoors with our stinky housemates/siblings/goldfish then with ‘stenders & Graham shutting up shop the lols are all we have, because we definitely can’t hold a tune like those Italians, what would we even sing, Three Lions..?
