Pretty Normal: Ruby Head
Ruby Head explores the beauty in the mundane and finding the extraordinary in the everyday. Her paintings depict moments in real people’s lives, frozen in time. These moments, never to be the same again, transform what is considered ordinary into sacred.
Her paintings humanise, humourise and honour the lives of normal people. Whether it’s roadmen on a sofa; a florist asleep during opening hours; or a baby taking its first steps on a skateboard, each carries an element of the sacred. Her exploration stems from her Christian faith, believing in ‘Imago Dei’, that all humans are made in God’s likeness.
Ruby is an artist born and raised in Bow. She graduated with a First in Fine Art Painting BA from the University of Arts London.

it’s our lovely chrissy’s last day today! chrissy has been a part of bethnal green mission church for over a decade & has been with the beehive since the beginning! (she helped start this wonderful coffee shop!)
chrissy is onto new adventures & whilst we are super excited for her, the team are going to miss her terribly 😭 she is thoughtful, passionate, caring, loves coffee & our community - the beehive would not be what it is today without her 💛
thank you chrissy for all the years of hard work you’ve poured out throughout these years, we are so grateful to you & we think you’re wonderful - love the beehive team x
