It was a busy day today at Highams Park Saturday Farmers Market organised by -pop-up and the esbee team. Great to see so many faces and people supporting local small businesses. Most of my cakes went and a lot of honey was also sold. So time for a bath and rest in front of the TV. Looking forward to being at the market again soon. Enjoy your weekend one and all and I hope you enjoyed the cakes and honey. Also thanks to my mate Amelia Snare Travel Conceige who popped by and was so helpful. She is now my lucky charm.

After shifting my hives to the Wanstead Apiary for 6 months, they are back in my garden. The garden just feels so wonderful to have them back home.
My son came over on Thursday evening to help me move them back. I am still looking for beginner or experience beekeeper who wants to buy a very productive hive. DM if you are interested.
However in the mean time. I just want to let you know that have lots of honey from 2025 to sell. Including my wonderful infused honeys.
For all you hayfever suffers, come and pop buy and grab a jar. I will be at the Highams Park Market on 9 May, looking forward to seeing you then. I will have also be selling my gluten free cakes. Some come buy. You can also reserve your honey through my website www.arlenescakesandbakes.com.

Hi all, I got a bit excited with the Bank Holiday Monday weather, so I went and visit my two hives at the Wanstead Apiary, which I moved them to in December. Have a look, enjoy.

Just discovered this clip taken over 2 years ago at Good Shepherd Leytonstone. Using less gongs and more crystal bowls. Sometimes less is more.
Dates are up for January on the website.
4 January 6.30pm and 17 January 3.30-6.30pm. Let’s get the New Year off to a good start with clearing negative vibes and bring in health intentions for the year ahead.

Thought I’d share what my bees were up to. We have hit autumn and it’s time to take off the last of the honey and prep for winter. So this morning after my swim, I was right in there. Taking off the last honey. Which I might feed back to them for stores and giving them a treatment to remove varroa mite, which are one of the parasites that bees have to live with. They will suck the hatching bees blood and weaken the colony. The colony works as a unit and if the mite population is a high, this can reduce their resilience and hence they won’t get through the winter. As a result of trying to do two jobs, treat and unit two colonies, you can see they broods were over flowing with bees and they were bearding along the front of the hive. Bees do not read the manuals of bee keeping and I probably should have done the treatment and left uniting to another day.

It’s that time of the year. Amazing early honey-flow. We have extracted two honey harvests, so far. A total of just under 300lb weight of honey. Truly an amazing year. I will be back at a market near you soon. But please contact me if you are in Walthamstow and want to pop by to buy the most delicious pure local honey. Arlene’s E17 Honey “from hive to jar”. honey

Sorry all, I haven't been as active on social media. The stall I had at the Leytonstone farmers Market closed down suddenly in March, so i haven't been at a stall for some time. But I still have last years honey and I am about to extract more honey. The ladies (because we all know that the workers are female)have been very busy. If you want to get honey from me, please DM, me you can always come and pick it up from my home in Walthamstow. I am also intending to make some more of the cinnamon honey, ginger, lemon honey turmeric and black pepper honey. These were good sellers. All good for boosting your immune system.
Those of you who have been suffering with hayfever, you need to be taking local honey, which has local pollen in it. In fact you should have been taking it in the winter months. I have been mixing my honey with turmeric, ginger oil, lemon oil and black pepper it has helped my allergies.
You can check out the website www.arlenescakesandbakes.com to make purchases online.
Come and discover all the gluten free cakes and breads that I produce from my home kitchen. Also producing raw vegan cakes and local honey.
