Back in 2012 when trying to find a decent coffee in west London meant sacrificing your tastebuds to the gods of fortune, one then BBC employee went on a mission:
To create an inclusive space in the heart of Chiswick that combined continental hospitality values with extraordinary produce. Pretty naive but brave, almost 13 years on, I feel I have made Hack & Veldt the best I can make it. Through COVID, recessions and TfL failures, we have been open to serve you wonderful people and I still LOVE it. But nobody can rest on their laurels and I owe it to Chiswick to continue the quest.
Please welcome Andrew. Andrew loves the stuff I have no patience for. He is calm where I struggle, analytical where I am impulsive. When I rely on my gut, he pulls up a data set I never knew I had. He’s the Ted to my Rebecca. But you give him a rare unpasteurised cheese and he has it - that passion that drives all of us independent retailers and without it we’d have packed it in years ago. Andrew leaves behind a career most people can only dream of and I am so honoured he’s chosen to take on this legacy with me: Together we promise to make your Good Ship H&V the best place to work, shop, chat, hang out, bring your kids/dogs/padel partners, make friends and grow old with.

Our West Country gin aficionados are visiting! will be doing a special summer gin tasting with us on Friday 4th July, 3-5pm. Pop in for a swig of Start Point or perhaps a pink Rose Sainte Marie!
