A peek at the menu for this week..the beloved tattie scone is back, homemade baked ham toasties on the take away menu and a lovely braised fennel toast. The other best thing about spring is all the beautiful flowers especially this beautiful bunch by

To all her lovers out there.
I'm sorry we can no longer sell her for just a tenner
The 🌍 has been spun on its head
And whilst we are just out here trying to keep everyone fed, this herby, sweet, deliciously pickled sarni is a labour of ❤️ and it's just costing us way more to make so please forgive us that your weekly, every other day, monthly treat is now going to be £12 but you can still always rely on the chicken sarni and remember it's huge and perfect for sharing 🫰🏻

Seppi's last supper last night was a perfect ending to his 5 years at the cafe.
If you want to come and say bye his last shift is on the 29th before he moves to Glasgow.
Thank you everyone who came down a special shout out to my parents who haven't missed one dinner in 9 years, Betty for making the biggest and best tiramisu think it had 50 shots of espresso in. The vermouths slipped down as did the burgers. For those asking I'm sure we will do another dinner in the distant future so keep your eyes peeled. Love Tash and team x

I realised on here we don't post much about our food the chicken sarni, Turkish eggs and pancakes will hopefully live on (forever) but everyone that comes in often can see and taste how much time, love and care goes into creating menus and dishes that change so frequently. This takes a huge amount of effort, planning and creativity.
We use a mix of great suppliers sourcing local and seasonal ingredients where possible, we have fun with it and love a bit of sweet and savoury on the same dish.. we love chives and we still love an egg.
I am not quite ready to do a goodbye post but we are hiring a new ✨ HEAD CHEF ✨ to start at the beginning of September.
Please email or message us to find out more. [email protected]

Keeping everyone hydrated and happy all day every day with his beautiful coffees (always a tiny bit full can tend to spill over the edge from time to time but always delicious) on his days off he goes to the chazzas, runs, watches I kissed a girl and hangs out with Helz. You really are one of a kind who makes everyone feel special. Here's to our hot mess Harry !!!! ❤️

What people say
Mae + Harvey is a charming corner cafe located in the heart of Roman Road, East London. This all-day and evening restaurant and coffee shop has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The cafe's warm and welcoming atmosphere is complemented by its delicious food and drinks, making it the perfect spot for any occasion.
One of Mae + Harvey's most loyal customers, Harry, has become a dear friend to the owners. He was one of their first customers, and they always looked forward to serving him his beloved cappuccino. Even during the pandemic when they couldn't chat in person, Harry continued to support the cafe and offer valuable advice during its refurbishment.
As autumn sets in, Mae + Harvey is embracing daal & soup season with open arms. Despite rising costs of ingredients like butter and eggs, the cafe is committed to keeping prices reasonable for its customers. And don't forget to try their famous Mae and Harvey juice!
Overall, Mae + Harvey is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere in East London.
