I know you have attention problems, but stay with me—you’re going to learn something new!

This is tamarillo, a sweet and tangy fruit from the Andes of Colombia, also known as tree tomato.

We use my uncle’s Colombian recipe. First, we cut off the tops and cook the fruit in water until the skin is ready to peel.

We peel each one by hand because the skin is very bitter. Then we blend it with our ingredients, separate the seeds from the pulp—and turn it into our Colombian tamarillo sorbet!

My name is Diego, and together with our family business, Bertotti Gelato in London, we are raising funds to help small communities in Colombia affected by the recent disaster, with a particular focus on Versalles, Valle del Cauca.

For us, Colombia is home and an important part of our family’s story. Seeing families lose access to basic necessities has made us want to do something practical to help.

The funds raised will be used to provide food, essential supplies and urgently needed equipment directly to affected communities.

We are working with Juan Carlos Solarte, a Colombian journalist and presenter working with Blu Radio and Caracol Internacional, who is helping coordinate support, identify what is most urgently needed and connect us directly with the affected communities.

To reach the ice cream shop, cafeteria, and coffee shop at Hammersmith Grove in London, you can use either public transport or your own vehicle.

Public Transport:
- The nearest tube station is Hammersmith Station (District, Piccadilly, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines). Upon exiting the station, turn left onto King Street and continue straight for approximately 10 minutes until you reach Hammersmith Grove. Turn right on Hammersmith Grove and walk for another 5 minutes. The shops will be on your left.
- Several bus routes serve the area including 9, 10, 27, 33, 72, 190, 209, 211, 220, 267 and 295 which stop nearby on King Street.

Driving/Parking:
- From Central London take the A4 westwards until you reach Hammersmith roundabout. At the roundabout take the exit onto King Street/A219 towards Hammersmith. Continue straight until you reach Hammersmith Grove where you should turn right. The shops will be on your left.
- Limited payment parking is available on-street next to the shops as well as at Kings Mall Shopping Centre car park which is within walking distance of Bertotti.
