Marrakech by way of four really distinct cafes that we loved. There were a couple of others we had wanted to visit but honestly it felt nice on this trip to be amongst a small enough coffee scene to return to places we enjoyed more than once. To be clear this isn’t a list, and there is no order (aren’t those lists kind of silly?)
They do all have a few things in common obvs, super nice drinks, friendly people behind the bars, and they all just happened to be chill as hell (a welcome juxtaposition to the beautiful chaos and occasional torrential rain outside. .kawa

Come work at Paradox! We have some regular spots available for experienced baristas (you gotta be into filter brewing - we sell a heap of batch, and we’re like real into hand brews too)
Get in touch, we’ll be holding interviews in the coming weeks 👀

New seasonal special is here just in time to scare away the approaching S.A.D, that scratchy tickle in your throat and the lingering existential dread (although, that one’s not really new is it?) Kat calls this one “The Killer” because she’s been dosing her loved ones with it for centuries to ward off evil spirits and the seasonal ick. It warms the heart and the oesophagus as every good potion should.

Join us for our first foray into with - founded in 2021 , Mimbar360 has a simple but powerful vision: to reimagine the mosque as a living, breathing part of community life.
Over three days, the café becomes a studio for reflection and making, where visitors are invited to reimagine mosques, sacred spaces and community hubs through the lens of - The Five Ways to Wellbeing: Connect, Notice, Give, Learn, and Be Active.
Across all three days, visitors may:
🌸Collage: A5 artworks made with magazines, cut-outs, text, and fabrics.
🧶Weaving: Simple card looms with fabric scraps and thread, curating colour and texture.
🌳 Audio: Short recordings of words, stories, or memories that will form part of a collective film.
🌷 The Slow Design Wall: A living installation that grows across the three days, weaving all contributions into a shared tapestry of imagination and belonging.
Free to take part, reflect and observe

Another season. Another version of this cup.
For us they are not just about raising money. They are a daily reminder, to think outside of ourselves. Keeping us aware of our immense privilege as we drink a coffee in the relative safety of the cafe or our homes. A tool for solidarity, connecting us with each other. Every cup sold is a tiny light in the dark to us, a glimmer of hope. Forever and always, free Palestine 🇵🇸
