What’s coming up at Roots? 👀
We thought it was about time we gave you a little sneak peek into what we’ve been working on behind the scenes...
🚿 The bathroom renovation is FINALLY almost done (yes, it’s taken longer than some of our full extensions, but it’s going to be worth the wait!)
🪧 New signage is being manufactured as we speak - we found something really special and can’t wait to show you
🍂 A brand new autumn/winter menu is dropping in November - think cosy, seasonal, and made from scratch (obviously!)
🌙 Roots by Night menu is officially live - launch coming soon!
🤫 And then there’s the BIG secret project we can’t talk about yet... let’s just say it’s going into production and it’s something really special for wholesale (you’ll love it!)
We’re so grateful for this community who’s been with us through every renovation, every menu change, and every crazy (but amazing) idea we’ve had. You make all of this possible.

Honestly? This is what summer should taste like ☀️
We’ve been quietly cooking up something special, and the new summer menu is finally here. It’s giving everything and it’s already been a HUGE hit 🌿✨
Our green matcha pancakes have already stopped the show, topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, pistachio nuts + drizzled with white chocolate 🥞
Followed by our vibrant tacos loaded with red cabbage, spiced mixed mushrooms, smashed avo, pickled cabbage, feta, chopped salad, house made hot sauce and our jalapeno chutney 🌮
And let’s not forget about our açaí bowl that’s almost too pretty to eat 🫐 and our new Mediterranean bowl, with added herb yogurt chicken (option to swap your protein) + smooth hummus, crispy chickpeas, olives, feta, smashed pickled cucumbers and sweet potato wedges for when you want something a little more 🥗
Finally let’s not forget about our brand NEW iced matcha’s in either mango or passionfruit - these just scream summer 💚🩷

A little Roots insight you may not have known about... we nearly got it all wrong.
A few months in, a customer told John our breakfast was terrible. Real brutal feedback. And honestly? She was right (at that time).
That moment changed everything for Roots. We stripped back the menu, brought a new chef on board, redesigned every recipe from scratch. Made it about quality, and not trying to do everything.
Years later, that same woman came back and said “wow what a difference.” That’s when we knew we’d changed everything around.
Now we’ve got regulars who come every single day. Some come twice a day (yes, really). That’s the stuff that matters more than anything.

Looking for some Easter fun! 🐣
is calling all creatives and artists in our community: to let your imagination run free and design a original logo inspired by nature and community
🖌️ We’d love for everyone to take part in this friendly competition to raise funds for our beloved park.
Hand-drawn or digital designs accepted.
Open to children and adults. include your name and contact
details.
Suggested donation: minimum £2 per entry - there is a
donation bucket at the library or send us an email at [email protected] to receive our bank details.
Drawings can be submitted by 19th April 2026

Whatever you fancy, we’ve got you covered...
We’ve almost made it to the end of January and we think we’ve pretty much nailed our healthy eating goals... because we have something for everyone, whether you’re sticking to those health goals and are looking for a high protein freshly cooked breakfast, eggs with sourdough, your morning fuel with our warm spiced oat bowl, something sweeter with our brand new banoffee pancakes 🤤 or something more substantial with our chicken Buddha bowl - there is literally something for everyone.

To reach the restaurant located at Corbets Tey Road in Upminster, you can choose to take public transport or drive yourself.
Public Transport:
The nearest train station is Upminster Bridge Station, which is around 1.5 miles away from the restaurant. From there, you can take a taxi or bus number 347 or 248 towards Romford and get off at Hunters Hall pub/bus stop which is adjacent to the restaurant.
Driving/Parking:
If driving, take the M25 motorway and exit at Junction 29 towards Romford/A127. Continue straight onto Southend Arterial Road/A127 towards London/Romford for approximately 3 miles. Take a left turn onto Hall Lane and continue for another mile until you reach Corbets Tey Road. Take a right turn onto Corbets Tey Road and continue for half a mile until you reach the restaurant on your left.
There are parking spaces available outside of the restaurant as well.
