Baklava; Layers of Filo Pastry in Honey Syrup and Filled with Pistachio Nuts. The fork goes in. The crunch says it all.
Thirty-odd layers of golden filo, each one brushed by hand. Crushed pistachios tucked in between. Then a slow pour of warm honey syrup, and the wait.

A fig, soft and syrup-slicked, waiting to be taken apart one spoonful at a time. Above it, tea poured the proper Turkish way, deep amber, steaming gently in its tulip glass, the kind that makes you linger a bit longer than you meant to.
Sweet first. Then a sip. Then another spoonful. Repeat until the plate is clean and the conversation has quietly wandered somewhere better.
