It’s been a rather rainy start to half-term in London! ☔️🍂
But don’t let a little rain spoil your plans. There’s so much to see and do, whatever the weather.
Here are a few of our favourite things to explore near Blakemore this week.
🐋 Natural History Museum
Say hello to Hope, the enormous blue whale hanging in Hintze Hall. She’s quite a sight! Entry is FREE, or you can explore Jurassic Oceans: Monsters of the Deep (from £15) and the newly opened Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition (from £17).
🏛️ Victoria & Albert Museum
Another lovely place to escape the rain. Wander through the beautiful sculpture galleries or discover Freddie Mercury: Splendid Things, a NEW free exhibition trail featuring eight of his iconic looks. There are also free family activities running from 26–30 October.
🍂 Kensington Gardens
When the rain finally gives us a break, wrap up warm and enjoy the autumn colours. The gardens are looking particularly lovely at this time of year, and they’re just a short stroll from Blakemore.

If you are planning to stay at a hotel in Leinster Gardens, London, there are several public transport options available to reach the area. You can take either the Circle or District Line on the London Underground and exit at Bayswater Station. Alternatively, you can take Bus 94 or Bus 148 and alight at Westbourne Grove North.
If you are driving to Leinster Gardens, be aware that there is no parking available on the street itself due to fake building facades hiding a gap in the terrace for the underground trains next to Paddington Station. However, there are several public car parks nearby including: Q-Park Queensway, NCP Car Park London Arthur Court, and NCP Car Park London Park Road.
Once you have arrived near Leinster Gardens, most hotels will be within walking distance.
