Agrimonia eupatoria
Meet this beautiful plant from the Rosaceae family.
Recent studies have revealed that this beauty can protect us from the BPA toxicty.
BPA can be found in food containers such as trays, tins, wraps and kitchen sponges it is present in clothing, medical devices and dental fillings.
It is a chemical which can affect our health. It can cause complications on our immune system and can lead to cancer and intellectual disorders as autism (Topping 2025).
Agrimony can increase and promote cellular protection against the BPA harmfulness due to the presence of polyphenols which are contained in the plant.
It is a gentle plant used from the Ancient Greeks and its name derives from the world Argemone which refers to plants that can cure cataract. Herbalists use the whole herb, mostly the aerial parts. It protects the liver and alleviate tension. Its infusion is great for eye wash for people who suffer from conjunctivitis. Tincture of agrimony can be used cystitis, bronchitis and heavy menstrual bleeding. External use can a great on wounds, sores, and eczema.
In folklore agrimony was used for protection against gossips and jinxes. A traditional English rhyme describes it useful for a relaxed sleep taking away stress and nightmares.
Plants are our friends and can help us emotionally and physically ❤️

Achillea Millefolium -Yarrow -
Many things have changed since the closure of Freedom Caffè. That was sad but our quest has not stopped, actually it improved! The gaze went further and approached the wonderful world of herbs 🌻
Studying Clinical Herbalism has opened a door to a world that talks about beauty, healing and harmony.
Here is a picture of Yarrow, one of my favourite herbs.
One of the first evidence of its use as medicinal plant is from a Neanderthal site in Spain, the cave El Sidron. Scientists found compounds of Yarrow is some skeleton’s dental calculus. This means that already we knew and use Yarrow over 50,000 years ago. Was it used by the Neanderthal individuals to cure the digestive system?
Yarrow has a ‘cure-all’ reputation and it is frequently called ‘the herbalist herb’. This ancient remedy can be used for almost anything (Barker 2001).
Thanks to its flavonoids and its ability to produce collagen, it can be used for wound healing (internal and external).
It is anti microbial, anti inflammatory, it encourages hormonal balance and can soothe and stimulate digestion. It is also helpful for acute lung injury (Yasar et al 2024).
Yarrow supports mental tranquillity by reducing anxiety. Energetically, Yarrow supports an embittered soul and helps to build gentle boundaries.
Isn’t she beautiful?
Yarrow tea: one or two teaspoons per cup to drink three times daily
Nurturing bath soak: to promote calming properties and relaxation, infuse yarrow leaves and flowers in hot water for a least 20m. Strain the tea and add it to your bath water.
Enjoy 🌻

It has been long time since the closure of Freedom Caffè. A journey started in December 2019 that has faced the unthinkable just few months after the opening. National lockdowns, third stage of Brexit, Covid restrictions, wars and the cost of living. It has been just a struggle since day one. I still would like to thanks my lovely clients who supported me along the way and I would like to say how much I am missing them.
It was so sad when I decided to close my doors and I had to deal with the pain. But, after every suffering, there is a rise! I decided that I needed to learn more and find out more in order to heal myself. This is how I encountered the magical world of herbs. They comforted me and cured my body and soul. This is just the beginning of a new journey. So far so good!

How to recognise a good quality coffee? Here is one simple tip: The aftertaste!
The aftertaste of coffee, also called "final" is a taste that remains in the mouth after taking a sip of coffee. The aftertaste can be chocolaty, charcoal, spicy, with caramel tips, fruity, smoky, roasted and more.
The aftertaste of a coffee is created by the vapors and gases – organic compounds – produced by the roasted beans. These vapors are released by the residues that remain in the mouth after tasting the coffee.
The longer the aftertaste stays in your mouth the better is the coffee. Come and try ours!

About yesterday!
We baked a Pistacchio Italian sponge cake filled with Namelaka, homemade raspberry syrup and caramelised pistachios. Decorated with Italian fresh cream. 🤪🤪
We are so excited to hear that it was delicious and to get a 5 stars review from our Italian customers (yes we Italians are fussy 😅) it gives that extra thrill! Grazie mille!
